BitMart shuts down trading as BMX crashes more than 60%
BitMart has started a phased shutdown of its global cryptocurrency exchange after reviewing its operating conditions, market environment, and future strategy.

According to the official shutdown notice, the exchange stopped new registrations, cryptocurrency and fiat deposits, and new spot orders from 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts entered reduce-only mode, while copy trading, grid trading, API trading, and other automated services began winding down.

The exchange will end all spot, futures, and other trading services at 01:00 UTC on August 26. However, the full platform will not close on that date. BitMart plans to terminate trading-platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Users will retain limited account access for a period after that date to review records and submit withdrawals.

BitMart sets withdrawal and position deadlines

BitMart told users to close all positions before 01:00 UTC on August 26 and recommended submitting withdrawals before 05:00 UTC the same day. Withdrawals remain open, but requests may face identity, source-of-funds, wallet ownership, sanctions, Travel Rule, and security reviews. Heavy demand or network congestion may extend processing times.

The exchange asked customers to cancel open orders, redeem eligible Earn, staking, and lending products, and download account records. Since May 13, Kusama has neither posted on X nor engaged with any post. This would not be the first time Kusama has stepped away from posting on X to maintain a low profile on social media. A similar trend was seen in late 2025 and also part of 2026.

The Shiba Inu lead ambassador attributed his silence on X to building something; in January, he revealed an independent AI project he had been working on since then.

Kusama has frequently used X as his primary communication channel with the community; oftentimes he updated his bio and location to communicate subtle hints and sometimes conveyed his thoughts through live broadcasts, as he has in recent times.

Bitcoin stayed positive but posted its weakest inflow week in three.

Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds pulled in $103.9 million in the week ending July 24, the most of any spot crypto ETF and a third straight positive week for the product.

Other major spot crypto ETFs drew fresh cash over the same five trading days. The inflows were broad but mostly small, and Ethereum outpaced every rival by a wide margin.

Ethereum ETFs Hold a Steady Recovery

According to SoSoValue data, Ethereum ETFs recorded weekly inflows of $84 million, $105 million, and $103.9 million across the past three weeks. The pace stayed firm rather than fading. Bitcoin ETFs, by contrast, saw their streak shrink from $197 million to $75.6 million to $33.79 million.

The shrinking figure came as the funds logged two negative daily prints, losing $225 million on July 23 and $240 million on July 24. Weekly trading volume fell to about $8 billion, the lowest since mid-April 2025.

Ethereum showed a similar late-week dip, with a $70.6 million outflow on July 24. However, the weekly total stayed positive and led the group.
