Elon Musk is going to manufacture his own chips. Not designing them—Tesla has been developing its own chips for seven years. This time, it's manufacturing. He announced an investment of approximately $25 billion to build a chip gigafactory called Terafab, aiming for a 2nm process and a monthly production capacity of 100,000 wafers, cramming logic chips, memory, and advanced packaging into the same facility.

The reason behind this is not complicated. Tesla's appetite for computing power has become too great for external foundries to handle. The computing power of each generation of self-driving chips increases three to five times, the Optimus robot and Robotaxi are about to enter mass production, and the world's most advanced wafer production capacity has long been monopolized by Apple, Qualcomm, and NVIDIA. Locking in production capacity through foundry contracts is merely a stopgap measure; building its own factory is the ultimate goal.

$25 billion. In other industries, this amount of money could buy an entire supply chain. In semiconductor manufacturing, it's not even enough to build a standard 2nm wafer fab.

 According to company announcements and industry media reports, TSMC's Arizona campus, the world's largest chip foundry, represents a total investment of $165 billion, Samsung's Taylor plant $44 billion, Texas Instruments' (TI) Sherman plant $30 billion, and Intel's Ohio plant $28 billion. Tesla ranks last. Moreover, according to estimates from Tom's Hardware and other media outlets, its $25 billion figure is merely an external estimate; Musk himself has not confirmed the exact number.

More importantly, the small chart on the right shows that industry research institutions estimate that building a factory with a monthly production capacity of 50,000 wafers requires $20 billion for a 3nm process and $28 billion for a 2nm

Recent price action supports this optimistic view. The latest weekly candle formed a bullish pattern at the 200-week EMA, indicating strong demand absorbed earlier selling. The reclamation of the $73,900 level has turned a former demand zone into active support. Furthermore, the long lower wicks on previous weekly candles suggest consistent buying interest and potential institutional accumulation during the recent dip.

Looking ahead, Bitcoin appears to be exiting a period of consolidation. Maintaining levels above $74,000 would reinforce the idea of a stable higher-timeframe base, with the next target being the $80,600 resistance. A decisive break above $85,000 could propel Bitcoin towards the $100,000 mark. Overall, the market sentiment remains bullish, with the recent correction viewed as a successful defense of the market structure, favoring a "buy the dip" strategy in the long term.
