The collapse of the crypto treasury trade is pushing struggling public companies toward the market’s newest source of investor enthusiasm: artificial intelligence.

According to a new Bloomberg report, at least a dozen digital-asset treasury (DAT) firms have shifted into AI-related ventures in recent months as token prices and their own valuations declined. Early results have been bleak.

K Wave Media, once focused on accumulating bitcoin, has fallen 71% since turning toward data center development in May. Lixte Biotechnology has lost 33% since agreeing to merge with a battery company in June. Alphaton Capital, previously a holder of alternative cryptocurrencies, is down 33% since rebranding as Alpha Compute in April. Industry observers reckon that most digital-asset treasury firms are either moving into AI or dying a slow death.

Michael Saylor's Strategy continues to build its cash reserves after taking a break from its regular Bitcoin purchases, and has now provided coverage for 2.1 years of dividends.
It's been over a month since Michael Saylor, the chairman of the world's largest Bitcoin treasury firm, Strategy, last announced a Bitcoin purchase to boost its treasury.

While Strategy is known for its consistent Bitcoin purchases every week, the firm has not made any purchase in the last four weeks; rather, it has continued to expand its cash reserve.

It appears that the vocal Bitcoin advocate has taken a break from his weekly Bitcoin purchases amid the growing speculation about Strategy's stock dilution that saw many industry leaders criticize his business model.
Rather than buying Bitcoin, Strategy has spent the last month consistently funding its cash reserve to potentially cover its dividend payments.

Following its latest filing, Strategy revealed it has added a massive $525 million to its U.S. dollar reserve, bringing its total cash holdings to $3.75 billion as of Monday, July 27. 

The company further confirmed that its multi-billion cash reserve now provides dividend coverage for about 2.1 years, sparking discussions across the crypto community.

With this move, Strategy has proven to investors its ability to easily pay out dividends without having to sell from its large Bitcoin stash while shunning critics.

Shiba Inu’s momentum finally lost some steam after one of the strongest rallies among large-cap memecoins.

In fact, $SHIB fell by almost 11% in the last 24 hours as traders took some profit off the table after the breakout earlier this week. This move came after $SHIB briefly took the mantle as leader of the recent memecoin rotation, drawing in new speculative money.

Hence, the question – What would be a good time for bulls to re-enter the market?

An unfinished price gap is back in focus
Shiba Inu’s explosive move over the last 3 days left behind a big unfilled gap. The latest correction has brought the old technical zone back into play.

At the time of writing, $SHIB’s price action was moving towards the imbalance zone between $0.0000042 and $0.00000485. This is a key zone zone that could trigger buyers to add more positions as they aim to maximize on the prevailing bullish trend.

Especially given that the memecoin has been trading above both its 20-day and 50-day EMAs on the daily chart.

In most cases, the markets often revisits these inefficiencies before deciding on their next direction. While such gaps are not always filled, they frequently attract liquidity during corrective phases.

Momentum indicators have been reflecting the recent slowdown too. For instance, the Stochastic RSI appeared to be retreating from an oversold region (Above 80), consistent with the anticipated short-term sell-off.

The midpoint of the imbalance zone at $0.00000456 could be the next target in line.

Why Storj Filed Chapter 11

Storj Labs filed in a federal bankruptcy court in West Virginia. The case number is 5:26-bk-00512.

Chapter 11 is not a shutdown. It lets a company keep trading while a court helps it clear its debts.

Storj says those debts are old. They came from an earlier phase of the business. The company cannot grow its way out of them.

“The business underneath is strong and right-sized. What holds it back are legacy obligations from an earlier chapter.”

That was Kaloyan Raev, Storj’s director of software engineering. He also signed the letter to token holders, not Chief Executive Colby Winegar.

What It Means for STORJ Holders

Nothing changes for the token today, Storj says. Data still moves across tens of thousands of storage locations in more than 100 countries.

The company plans to offer holders equity in the new Storj. Equity means part-ownership. The rules for who qualifies have not been written yet.

Those rules will matter. About 143.8 million STORJ trade freely out of 425 million in total. Two-thirds of the supply sits elsewhere.

Bankruptcy also has a payment order. Creditors come before owners. Storj’s letter to token holders admits it can promise intent, not results.
