Bitcoin’s power law enters a 2026 stress test as Giovanni’s new chart shifts the debate from price targets to regime signals

Bitcoin Power Law chart creator Giovanni Santostasi has added a new layer to one of crypto’s most durable valuation models.

The chart shifts attention to Bitcoin's movements away from the trend line, with a field of green and red rays that track Bitcoin’s 10-day local growth rate in log-log space against the long-run power-law curve.

For years, the Bitcoin Power Law was mostly shown as a time-based price corridor, with attention fixed on whether spot traded above, below, or near the trend line. Giovanni’s latest version shifts the focus to motion.

In Giovanni’s framing, each ray is a direct measurement of Bitcoin’s local growth rate in log-log space, with angle and length encoding slope. Green marks periods when the price grows faster than the long-run power law, while red marks slower growth or decline.

With 10-day averaging, the chart reads less like noise and more like a vector field around Bitcoin’s long-run power-law attractor.



CryptoSlate’s earlier coverage treated the power law as a framework that could point to six-figure valuations while also warning that it did not encode broader market forces.

Recently, we sharpened the falsifiability question, noting that a prolonged stall near the high-$60,000s would eventually put the model’s rising floor under direct pressure.

In 2026, the live debate is whether the model still helps explain Bitcoin after U.S. spot ETFs, tighter macro linkages, and rising mining difficulty changed the market’s plumbing.

This market action reintroduces the $CAKE token into a historical trading range, challenging the weakness shown by buyers over the past year.

From a technical perspective, the $1.50 level has acted as a crucial support and resistance axis since July 2023. While optimism floods the sector, the asset faces a significant barrier at $2.16; historically, incursions toward $3.00 or $4.20 have triggered aggressive profit-taking that diluted existing demand.

Consequently, the recent increase in Spot CVD suggests that the current movement is backed by real buying and not just leverage. However, analysts warn that the sustainability of this rally will depend directly on Bitcoin’s stability and the bulls’ ability to absorb supply in the $1.60 zone.

In this sense, short-term traders consider that a pullback toward the $1.40 or $1.45 area could represent a strategic entry opportunity. Thus, the market seeks to establish a solid floor before attempting to attack higher levels that have not been consolidated in the last fifteen months.

Hashdex has lowered the management fee on its multi-asset crypto exchange-traded fund, Hashdex Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF [NCIQ], as competition across the U.S. crypto ETF market continues to build.

According to a 16 March 2026 filing, the sponsor fee for NCIQ has been reduced from 0.50% to 0.25% per year, effective immediately. The change was disclosed in an 8-K filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The fee had previously been temporarily reduced through a waiver set to remain in place until the end of 2026. The new filing makes that lower fee level permanent.

Fee cut strengthens Hashdex’s pitch to investors

The reduction makes NCIQ cheaper for investors seeking diversified exposure to digital assets through a single listed product.

Hashdex said the decision reflects its effort to build more accessible crypto investment products for advisers, institutions, and high-net-worth investors.

The lower fee also comes at a time when fund issuers are increasingly using pricing to compete for flows in the growing crypto ETF market.

NCIQ launched in February 2025 as the first multi-asset spot crypto ETF in the United States. The fund tracks the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index and currently provides exposure to seven crypto assets:

Bitcoin

Ethereum

XRP

Solana

Cardano

Chainlink

Stellar

That structure sets it apart from single-asset spot ETFs tied only to Bitcoin or Ethereum.

In a post on X, Finzer acknowledged the delay directly, writing that the OpenSea Foundation had originally planned to begin the first steps toward the token rollout during a March 30 event but decided to postpone the launch.

“A delay is a delay. I’m not going to dress it up, and I know how it lands,” Finzer wrote, adding that the team chose to ensure “every piece is in place” before launching the token rather than forcing the original timeline.

The SEA token was first announced in February 2025 as part of OpenSea’s broader strategy to transform the platform beyond NFTs into a multi chain trading hub with token trading, cross chain functionality, and new rewards systems tied to its OS2 platform.

Later updates indicated the token would launch in the first quarter of 2026, with roughly half of the total supply allocated to the community including historical OpenSea users and participants in the platform’s rewards program.

The token was also expected to play a role in OpenSea’s evolving ecosystem, which now includes token trading across multiple chains and plans for additional features such as mobile integration and derivatives products.
