Transaction activity on the Solana blockchain reached a record high in July, preceding a sharp rally that pushed SOL above $100 for the first time since February amid a broader crypto market recovery.

Onchain data presented by The Kobeissi Letter showed that Solana processed a record 4.2 billion transactions in July, up 13.5% from the previous month. Transaction counts have risen by roughly 2 billion since December, representing a 91% increase.

The growth has coincided with a broader expansion in tokenized real-world assets. The Kobeissi Letter cited RWA.xyz data showing that the value of distributed RWAs across tracked blockchain networks has climbed above $38 billion.

On Solana specifically, the value of tokenized real-world assets has climbed to nearly $4 billion, up roughly 11.8% over the past month.

The surge in network activity comes as SOL has rallied roughly 40% over eight days, with much of those gains coming alongside a broader crypto market rebound, according to CoinMarketCap data.

The rally accelerated after the US Treasury Department announced plans to double certain long-dated bond buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation, a move that pushed yields lower and helped lift risk appetite across crypto markets.

Bitcoin's surging price faces 1 key level that could signal if the bear market is really over
Bitcoin $BTC$79,380.27 has surged by 25% to $80,000 in a week. Still, one bastion needs to fall before the bulls can claim victory.

That hurdle is the simple moving average price over the past 50 weeks, currently around $81,087. Historically, reclaiming this level has been one of the clearest signs that a bear market is actually over, not just pausing.

"11 of 13 times BTCUSD reclaimed the 50w MA during completed bear markets, the bear-market low was in. It currently sits around $82k. If BTCUSD reclaims it on weekly close, history suggests the bear market would likely be over," Galaxy Research said.

Moving averages are tracked by traders and analysts to gauge momentum across different timeframes. Among the most widely followed are the 50-, 100-, and 200-period averages across daily, weekly, and other timeframes. Because so many market participants watch the same levels, they tend to become self-fulfilling, acting as real support and resistance simply because enough traders treat them that way.

While the 50-week figure is still out of reach, the price has already blown through all three of the key averages on the daily time frame, in a move Dan Tapiero, the founder of 50T Funds, called an "extreme momentous break up in $BTC and complex." 50T is a multibillion-dollar private growth equity fund investing in mid-to-late stage digital asset companies.

Tapiero added that the cycle low is already in. "Hardest thing to buy here if you aren't long already. Greatest amount of pain is back to 100k immediately,” he noted. Others observers echoed similar sentiments on social media.

Bitcoin Price Today: BTC Pulls Back From $81,300, What’s Next?
Bitcoin pierced the $80,000 mark overnight, reaching as high as $81,300 before pulling back to roughly $79,000, according to chart analysis from Verified Investing chief market strategist Gareth Soloway. The pullback has raised a question for traders. Does this rally confirm a new bull market, or is Bitcoin simply testing resistance in an ongoing bear market?

Signs of Fading Momentum

Soloway pointed to a few technical warning signs building on the chart:

Growing upper wicks on recent candles, a pattern he said signals increasing selling pressure as price pushes higher

A trend line, previously support, that is now acting as resistance after being broken and retested

A cluster of resistance levels stacking up in the $80,000 to $83,000 region

The One Question That Matters

According to Soloway, confirming a genuine trend reversal comes down to a single technical test. Has Bitcoin made a higher high compared to its prior swing high?

The relevant prior high sits at $82,830

As of this analysis, Bitcoin has not yet closed above that level

A confirmed break above $82,830 would mark the first higher high in the current pattern, an early signal of a potential shift from a downtrend to an uptrend

Soloway was clear that even a break above this level would only be the “beginning stages” of confirming a new bull market, not definitive proof on its own.

Where a Pullback Could Land

If Bitcoin does confirm a higher high, Soloway laid out two possible support zones for a subsequent pullback:

$73,000, a more aggressive buy-the-dip level based on prior price action

$67,000, which he described as the stronger, more conservative buyable level given the prior consolidation and breakout pattern at that price

Soloway said the method for judging trend direction doesn’t need to be complicated.
