Strategy has published a new indicator designed to measure its ability to absorb a sustained market decline. Rather than setting a floor price, the company presents an annual rate of return, allowing the assessment of the strength of its financial structure over several years. This new tool is based on its reserves, its debt, and its financial commitments. In this context, Bitcoin remains at the heart of the Strategy model, which seeks to better explain the conditions under which its financial coverage could remain sufficient despite a market that is durably oriented downward.

In brief

Strategy estimates that its model can withstand an annual decline of 11.34% in Bitcoin before reaching its critical threshold.

The company bases this calculation on its reserves of 843,775 BTC, its net debt, and its preferred shares.

A second threshold set at 10.79% corresponds to the yield needed to cover the effective cost of financing.

The Floor ARR does not trigger liquidation, forced sale of Bitcoin, or automatic restructuring.

According to Michael Saylor, this new indicator is part of creating a new analytical framework for Bitcoin-related capital markets.

The market now sits at another of those turning points, just after Bitcoin [BTC] cleared the $65,000-resistance and several altcoins printed local highs.Whether the market records deeper losses is tied directly to its total capitalization, which has shed roughly $85 billion since 21st July.

This decline may be evidence of bearish positioning, profit-taking, or a mix of both. In fact, the drop landed right after the market set a fresh high, hinting towards investors probably locking in their money.Source: TradingView
At the time of writing, the Fear and Greed Index seemed to capture this shift. It showed that investors are simply fearful—likely spooked by the prospect of another liquidation.

It had a reading of 35. It alluded to capital sitting largely on the sidelines, despite some quiet accumulation.There is an interesting dynamic that might suggest that investors are simply waiting on the sidelines for calm to settle in. For example, the Altcoin Season Index, which tracks whether altcoins are leaning toward a bull run or bear dominance.

At press time, the index was trending upwards, even as the altcoin’s market capitalization slid over the same stretch.

On 23rd July, the index sat at 51 with altcoin market capitalization at $923.67 billion. By 25th July, it had climbed to 53 while altcoin capitalization fell to $900.46 billion. This seemed to be a divergence pointing to lingering bull interest.

BitMart shuts down trading as BMX crashes more than 60%

BitMart has started a phased shutdown of its global cryptocurrency exchange after reviewing its operating conditions, market environment, and future strategy.

According to the official shutdown notice, the exchange stopped new registrations, cryptocurrency and fiat deposits, and new spot orders from 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts entered reduce-only mode, while copy trading, grid trading, API trading, and other automated services began winding down.

The exchange will end all spot, futures, and other trading services at 01:00 UTC on August 26. However, the full platform will not close on that date. BitMart plans to terminate trading-platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Users will retain limited account access for a period after that date to review records and submit withdrawals.
