Ripple’s $XRP is on the run to reach the same level as globally recognized payment systems such as SWIFT and also to compete with them.

Kyber Network Says It’s Not Regulated by Singapore’s MAS. Its Own Contracts Show Why.
Kyber Network says neither it nor its KyberSwap platform operates out of Singapore or falls under licensing by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, as the city-state’s digital-token rules push unlicensed local firms serving overseas users to relicense or shut down.KyberSwap’s own Terms of Use, dated April 2025, already named a British Virgin Islands company and a Cayman Islands foundation as the platform’s operators, more than a month before Singapore’s licensing deadline was even announced.

Kyber ran nearly the same jurisdiction shift once before, leaving Malta for the British Virgin Islands in 2020 to get ahead of new European anti-money-laundering rules.

Kyber Network says it isn’t regulated by Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore, and that KyberSwap doesn’t operate out of Singapore at all.

The statement comes as Singapore closes a gap crypto firms have used for years. Under the Financial Services and Markets Act, digital-token firms incorporated in Singapore but serving only customers abroad now need a license from MAS or must stop operating in the city-state. MAS has said it will “generally not issue” those licenses and expects most affected firms to wind down their Singapore operations instead.

Coinbase tokenized stocks are now live on Base, bringing shares of major US companies, including Apple and Nvidia, into the network’s DeFi ecosystem.

The products are issued by Coinbase using Base’s B20 token standard and are backed one for one by underlying shares held with regulated custodian Alpaca. Holders have a direct beneficial claim on the corresponding shares.

The stocks are available to eligible users outside the US and can be held directly in self custody wallets. Unlike traditional equities, the tokens can trade around the clock through onchain markets.

Initial assets include tokenized shares of Apple, Nvidia, Meta, and Alphabet. Base said additional Coinbase tokenized stocks will be added over the coming weeks.

The launch also connects the assets with several DeFi protocols on Base. Aerodrome is providing liquidity for tokenized stock trading, while lending protocols including Aave can support borrowing and lending against the assets.

That could allow users to hold tokenized equities alongside stablecoins, use stocks as collateral for loans, supply them to liquidity markets, or incorporate them into automated investment products.

The tokens use B20, a standard that extends ERC 20 and is designed to remain compatible with existing wallets, decentralized exchanges, routers, and DeFi protocols. Corporate actions, including dividends and stock splits, are handled through an onchain multiplier designed to avoid disrupting existing DeFi positions.

XRP at $3.40 Won’t Shock Me, Says Canary Capital CEO, Shares Bold TimelineCanary Capital CEO Steven McClurg says he wouldn’t be surprised if XRP rises above $3.40 within the next few months as institutional lending and yield products grow on XRP Ledger (XRPL).

In a recent interview with Paul Barron, McClurg said XRP’s recent rise is being driven by increased activity on the XRPL, including institutional lending, credit and yield opportunities.

At press time, XRP was around $1.50, up 49% in a week. It had risen from about $0.9882 to as high as $1.70. That’s a gain of more than 70% from its weekly low.
