Crypto prices are back to lower values. Several major Asian markets have declined as well. Experts have underlined three possible factors in this scenario. These are oil prices, US yields, and the US Dollar. The Middle East conflict remains at the center of it.

Crypto Prices Plummet

Crypto prices had a bull run for the last couple of days. They have now retreated on the chart. A major indication is in the form of the collective market cap and FG Index. The former has plunged by 4.11%, and the index is down to 33 points from 40-44 points.

Individually, top tokens have lost more than 4% of their respective values in the last 24 hours. BTC, the flagship cryptocurrency, is down by 4.18%, while ETH has shed 5.44% of its value. More top tokens in the crypto market that have lost their values are XRP (-3.89%), BNB (-3.25%), and SOL (-4.38%).

BTC, for one, traded at a high of $74,258.06 hours before it stepped back heavily. The decline was rather steep from $73,984.14 to $72,890.84, paving the way for more losses.

Asian Markets

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 declined by 2.5%. It closed the day at around 53,875.94, with the Bank of Japan deciding to hold its benchmark interest rate steady at 0.75%. South Korean Kospi recorded 5,845.62 after a fall of 1.3%.

The Hang Seng in Hong Kong and the Shanghai Composite Index each lost 0.2% and 0.9%, respectively. Taiwan’s Taiex declined by 1.2%.

In India, Nifty went below 23,000, and Sensex crashed over 1,600 points. The decline is reportedly led by banking, financial, and realty stocks, with investors looking to book profits and lowering exposure to risks.

Besides, the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator at 0.02 shows very light buying pressure in the asset’s market. Notably, a small amount of money is flowing into the asset, not strongly. If the value continues rising, it could build accumulation, but at press time, the momentum is weak.

The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 51.28 sits right at the neutral zone, with a slight bullish tilt. The market moves sideways at this level without strong momentum. A move higher from here builds bullish strength, while a drop back below 50 would hint at sellers regaining control.

For a while, crypto managed to stay relatively insulated from the macro fear surrounding the West Asian crisis. But the latest inflation data was a wake-up call. It reminded everyone that calling a bottom for Bitcoin (BTC) might still be premature — especially after a 3.6% daily drop.
And now, the cracks are starting to show.
One of the clearest signals is the Coinbase Premium Index (CPI), which just saw a sharp collapse — dropping over 100% in a single day into negative territory. That’s not just a number. It’s a message: U.S. buying pressure is fading.
At the same time, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index has slipped back into “fear” after briefly touching neutral when BTC reclaimed $74K. That shift in sentiment made the recent long squeeze almost inevitable.
And the damage? Nearly $150 million in long positions wiped out — the largest liquidation event since early March.
This is what a transition into risk-off looks like.
Now Bitcoin is chopping around $70K. Price is holding, but conviction isn’t. There’s no strong follow-through, no aggressive dip buying — just hesitation.
Which means one thing: it’s still too early to confidently call a bottom.
But here’s where it gets interesting.
There’s a silent force helping BTC hold its ground — its relationship with gold.
The BTC–gold correlation has dropped to -0.88, its lowest level since November 2022. In simple terms, Bitcoin is moving strongly against gold.
And that matters.
While gold and silver saw massive value wiped out after the inflation report, Bitcoin’s losses were relatively contained. That kind of resilience doesn’t go unnoticed.
It suggests a shift in narrative.
Capital may be starting to view Bitcoin not just as a risk asset — but as an alternative hedge.
If that trend continues, it could prevent sentiment from slipping into extreme fear and keep capital rotating into BTC even in uncertain conditions.

Funding rates remain only slightly positive, suggesting traders aren’t aggressively betting on further upside. Instead of strong buying, this move looks more like short positions getting closed rather than fresh demand entering the market.

In other words, even as price rises, bulls are taking more damage — often a warning sign of potential downside ahead.

For now, the $65K–$66.5K zone remains the key support, defining the current range.
