The crypto market poses significant challenges for auditors and accountants in all jurisdictions. These are some of them.

What to Know:

Since digital assets do not fit neatly into existing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) frameworks, there's a lot of uncertainty around their classification, valuation, and disclosure in both the EU and the U.S.

While the EU is slowly moving toward better standardization through new regulations, the U.S. continues to rely on interpretive approaches.

All of this leaves auditors, accountants, and fund managers to navigate higher inconsistency and risk.

The finance industry has undergone an extraordinary metamorphosis in the past decade. With digital assets becoming full-fledged parts of the financial ecosystem, every market player has had to adapt to new circumstances.

No one has had it more difficult than auditors and accountants. Specifically, conventional audit and accounting practices — based on the traditional financial instruments and reliable infrastructure — are not enough to contend with the ever-changing world of digital wallets and distributed ledgers.

Below, we’ll discuss some of the most prevalent challenges that auditors and accountants are facing, both in the U.S. and in the EU.

Buyers Return to Bitcoin! According to the analyst, this level must be broken for the decline to end!

As Bitcoin ($BTC) continues its attempts at recovery in recent days, buyers are starting to re-enter the market.

CryptoQuant notes that, according to the data, net Bitcoin purchase volume has increased, indicating that buyers are entering the market.

According to CryptoQuant, net buying volume measures the power imbalance between active buyers and sellers in the derivatives market, and this indicator has been positive since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict.

This positive trend coincides with Bitcoin’s recent rise to $74,000 and indicates a resurgence in demand for the derivatives market.

Coinbureau CEO Nic Puckrin, pointing to the positive trend in net buying volume, said, “This means that buyers’ volume has surpassed that of sellers. Buyers are now controlling the market.”

The analysis platform Glassnode stated that, at the macro level, the price of $BTC is stuck between the realized price ($54,400) and the actual market price ($78,000).

Glassnode stated that according to their charts, $BTC spent much of 2023 between these two levels, adding, “Unless there are broader macroeconomic downturns, this December market could support a recovery rally.”

However, analysts noted that recovery rallies have repeatedly been stalled near the true market price (currently around $78,000).

Lastly, crypto analyst Titan, using a pseudonym, said that $BTC rising above the $78,000-$80,000 range could signal a change in the long-term trend and reverse the downtrend.

Bitcoin continues to dominate the crypto market as the leading digital asset. Recently BTC has been consolidating between $66,000 and $69,000, reflecting cautious optimism among traders and institutional investors. Market sentiment remains moderately bullish as Bitcoin maintains strong support levels despite short-term volatility.
From my crypto trading experience, Bitcoin often enters consolidation phases before making major moves. These sideways periods allow large investors to accumulate positions while retail traders wait for confirmation of the next trend. Many analysts believe that if BTC breaks above $70,000, it could trigger another bullish wave across the entire crypto market.
Crypto gossip in the community suggests that institutional funds and hedge funds are quietly increasing their Bitcoin exposure again. This narrative has been supported by rising on-chain wallet activity and growing trading volume on major exchanges.
Sector-specific insights show Bitcoin is also expanding beyond being just a store of value. BTC is increasingly integrated into DeFi protocols, lending platforms, and even NFT ecosystems through Layer-2 solutions such as the Lightning Network. These developments could strengthen Bitcoin’s long-term utility.
From a technical perspective, BTC currently shows strong support near $65,000 and resistance around $70,000. If bulls maintain momentum and trading volume increases, the next potential target could be $72,000–$75,000. However, if market sentiment weakens, BTC may retest support levels before continuing its trend.
Overall, Bitcoin remains the backbone of the crypto market, and its price movement will likely continue guiding altcoin trends in the coming weeks.

Holders could exchange ACX for equity in a new US C-corp or sell tokens for USDC in a buyout offer. The move is meant to help the protocol secure institutional partnerships and commercial agreements. ACX saw a sharp surge in activity, trading at about $0.063 at the time of writing. The token gained roughly 85% over the previous 24 hours, lifting its market capitalization to nearly $45 million. Market participation also spiked. Daily trading volume climbed to approximately $51.7 million, representing an increase of more than 3,000% compared with the day before. A similar trend appeared in the derivatives market. CoinGlass data show that derivatives trading volume expanded dramatically, rising over 7,700% to $138 million. Meanwhile, open interest jumped by around 950%, reaching $20 million, pointing to a wave of new positions entering the market. The sudden rally followed a proposal submitted on March 11 to the Across governance forum by Risk Labs, the core development group responsible for Across Protocol. Proposal explores token-to-equity transition The proposal, titled "The Bridge Across," asks the community whether the protocol should transition from a token-based structure into a U.S. C-corporation. If approved, a newly formed entity tentatively called AcrossCo would take over development, partnerships, and commercialization. The company would also hold the protocol's intellectual property.
