Bitcoin Faces Mixed Outlook on Reddit as Bear Market Deepens
Bitcoin is currently going through one of its most uncertain phases since its inception in 2009. As geopolitical issues, profit-taking, and changing investor sentiment continue to weigh in on the cryptocurrency, the community remains uncertain about the potential future of $BTC. While many believe that the current bearish sentiment may continue, others remain optimistic that the Bitcoin price is poised for another major bull run.

As of press time, $BTC crypto is trading at $64,060. This price represents one of the lowest levels over the past year. Despite a marginal decline of 0.23% in a day, the coin has surged by about 0.1% and 5.5% over the past week and month, respectively. However, over the last 12 months, $BTC has dropped by nearly 45%.

Social media platforms are now busy sharing inputs and opinions on the current sentiment and the future direction of Bitcoin. One place that remains completely active on this matter is Reddit, where communities like r/Bitcoin and r/CryptoCurrency have now become a space for $BTC price discussions.

Notably, crypto discussions on Reddit often reflect the broader market trend. While users celebrate the bull markets, highlighting new all-time highs and sharing profit stories, crypto winters see more cautious conversations. Here, as the Bitcoin price is currently experiencing one of its worst periods, investors and community members are sharing their cautious, yet optimistic approaches.

However, one thing is interesting. Despite the long-standing negative trend in the Bitcoin price, long-term $BTC holders are still buying the crypto. They stand away from panic selling and instead continue to buy more coins at reduced rates. This shows that long-term investors remain hopeful about the pioneer cryptocurrency’s bullish future.

Crypto markets have ticked up this Monday morning as investors brace for a volatile week ahead, with all eyes on the US central bank. Meanwhile, Iran said it will halt its attacks as long as the United States does the same, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Sunday.

The US paused its bombing campaign on Friday following 13 nights of intensifying airstrikes. The development has caused a dip in oil prices and a jump in US stock futures and crypto markets.

Economic Events July 27 to 31

July’s Consumer Confidence data is due on Tuesday, which reflects how consumers are spending. This is followed by the week’s big event on Wednesday when the Fed announces its rate decision and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh holds a press conference, setting policy direction.

The meeting comes amid growing uncertainty about tech sector valuations, AI infrastructure spending, and economic growth trajectory amid a backdrop of inflationary pressures.

The market “feels very frothy,” Kristina Hooper, chief market strategist at Man Group, told Reuters. “Investors are, to a certain extent, walking on eggshells, and they’re more likely to react negatively to any signs of imperfection.”

Odds of rates remaining the same have fallen to 63.7% on the CME Fed watch tool, which now predicts a 36.3% chance of an increase.

July’s PCE inflation data is due on Thursday, followed by the Michigan Consumer Sentiment data and Inflation Expectations data on Friday.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says the AI boom is driven by long-term infrastructure demand rather than speculation, arguing that investments in AI computing will continue and dismissing concerns over an imminent technology bubble burst.

Artificial intelligence is unlikely to face a bubble burst anytime soon, according to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who believes the current AI boom is driven by a fundamental shift in computing rather than short-term market hype. His remarks come as investors continue to debate whether massive spending on AI infrastructure can be sustained.

Speaking during an interview with Axios co-founder Mike Allen, Huang argued that the semiconductor industry’s current growth cycle differs from previous booms. He said that the demand is not being driven by seasonal buying patterns or temporary trends but by a structural transformation in computing.

According to Huang, AI requires an entirely new computing infrastructure, with businesses, governments and developers investing heavily in data centers and advanced processors. He believes the industry will need to expand several times over the next decade to meet rising AI requirements.

The NVIDIA chief highlighted that he does not expect a downturn in AI chip demand ‘for a while,’ despite concerns over rising capital expenditure by technology companies. His comments arrive after semiconductor stocks experienced volatility amid questions about whether spending on AI hardware can continue at its current pace.

Huang maintained that customers are investing because AI infrastructure is becoming an essential part of modern computing rather than an optional technology upgrade. In his view, the industry’s growth is tied to long-term technological change instead of speculative buying.
