The Bitcoin Risk Index just hit zero, “a full low-risk regime,” reported Swissblock on Tuesday. The metric is a proprietary indicator that gauges the overall risk level in the Bitcoin market. It essentially measures the relative balance between selling and buying pressure, and how “risky” it is to hold or buy $BTC.

Bitcoin Price Has Not Reached Its Real Bottom, And A ‘Big Storm’ Is Coming


While others argue that the Bitcoin price has already found its bottom and could be gearing up for a bullish reversal, one crypto analyst has rejected these claims, expecting further downside instead. According to Marmot, a crypto expert on X, Bitcoin has not yet reached its true price floor. He warns that the flagship cryptocurrency could crash below $45,000 before any sustainable recovery to the upside takes shape.

Bitcoin Price Action Mirrors 2022 Bear Market

In a recent X post, Marmot shared a bearish analysis of Bitcoin, comparing its current bear market to past cycles. The analyst noted that Bitcoin’s recent price action closely mirrors patterns seen in the 2022 bear market.

Notably, Bitcoin has already fallen more than 40% from its all-time high above $126,000 in October 2025. Since that peak, the flagship cryptocurrency has trended downward, recording brief price rallies, which Marmot has described as “fake recoveries.” These upside moves temporarily lure investors into the market before prices reverse sharply downwards, leading to losses.

To support his bearish outlook, Marmot has divided Bitcoin’s current bear market into three phases. The first phase was completed after the cryptocurrency crashed by over 54%, now trading at around above $74,000. According to him, the market is now in the second bear phase, a period characterized by repeated bull traps, fakeouts, and continued volatility designed to wipe out short-term investors.

The most recent bull trap was observed after the US-Iran ceasefire announcement, which sent Bitcoin surging briefly above $73,000. However, this rally proved short-lived as the price quickly reversed toward $71,000 before rebounding again above $74,000 at the time of writing.

$XRP ($XRP) price is at $1.3575 on April 14, with 24-hour trading volume of $2.24 billion, as the daily chart shows a symmetrical triangle pattern compressing price action between two converging trendlines since early March. The upper descending trendline connects the February highs above $1.60, and the lower ascending trendline runs from the March lows around $1.20. The full MA ribbon sits above price: SMA 20 at $1.3398, SMA 50 at $1.3792, SMA 100 at $1.5625, and SMA 200 at $1.9222, forming overhead resistance at each level. Price is at the apex of the triangle, forcing an imminent directional resolution.

The current bitcoin price sits near the estimated average entry price for holders of U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs, a level that could act as a floor rather than a ceiling. Investors who held through the drawdown below $60,000 have little incentive to sell at breakeven, removing a layer of potential overhead supply.

U.S. spot ETFs posted $471 million in net inflows on April 6, their strongest single-day intake since February, pushing cumulative inflows past $56 billion since the products launched in January 2024 - a move some watchers say is reflective of bullish market structure.

"This is bullish for adoption even though it's no self-custody," said Vikrant Sharma, founder of CakeWallet.

"Institutions pouring in $471 million in a single day and pushing past $56 billion cumulative means bitcoin is getting a whole new class of long-term holders. Self-custody wallets selling off is just natural profit-taking, but the fact that it's not leading to price collapse is a very bullish sign," he added.
