Hyperliquid’s $HYPE rally has moved beyond ordinary momentum and into something more structurally unusual. The token climbed above $62 and reached record highs while entering the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, yet the stronger question is what actually powered the move. The headline force is not ETF demand but a protocol buyback loop that channels trading revenue back into $HYPE, creating a persistent source of market demand tied directly to activity on Hyperliquid’s own exchange and making the rally feel less like a simple listing story today for traders closely watching liquidity.

The buyback engine behind $HYPE

At the center of the rally is the Assistance Fund, which routes roughly 99% of fees from Hyperliquid’s perpetual futures and spot markets into open-market $HYPE purchases. Unlike a corporate board deciding whether to authorize repurchases, this mechanism operates continuously and automatically, block by block. That design turns exchange usage into token demand, because more trading revenue means more buybacks. Since launch, Hyperliquid has generated more than $1.16 billion in cumulative revenue, with almost all of it deployed toward buying its own token at scale through that same automated channel across markets.

Tether and the Government of Georgia announced GEL₮, a lari-pegged national stablecoin, on the 25th of May 2026.

The move positioned Georgia among the first countries to place its national currency onto blockchain payment rails through a private issuer instead of a state-run CBDC.

Officials said the initiative targeted faster cross-border payments, lower settlement costs, and stronger digital financial infrastructure.

Georgia had reportedly spent months building a stablecoin framework covering reserve management, redemption rights, issuer oversight, and AML compliance.

However, this was not Tether’s first sovereign-style partnership.

Arkham Intelligence data showed BlackRock-linked Bitcoin sales reached nearly $1.01 billion last week, coinciding with $1.26 billion in total U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF outflows.

Despite ETF outflows, BlackRock recently filed a second Securitize-powered tokenized fund with the SEC after BUIDL grew to roughly $2.3 billion in assets.

According to data shared by Arkham Intelligence on Monday, BlackRock sold Bitcoin every trading day last week, bringing its total weekly disposal to nearly $1.01 billion. The withdrawals came during a sharp downturn across crypto markets, with Bitcoin and major altcoins remaining under pressure for most of the week.
Arkham Intelligence data showed the outflow was BlackRock’s biggest weekly Bitcoin reduction since November 2025. At the same time, the entire U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market recorded combined weekly outflows of roughly $1.26 billion, suggesting BlackRock accounted for most of the capital leaving the sector.

The sell-off unfolded as market volatility intensified following renewed weakness in crypto prices and fading appetite for risk assets. Bitcoin briefly slipped below key support levels during the week before staging a modest rebound heading into Monday trading.
