The Reddit XRP community is divided over whether a proposed U.S. crypto bill could change the outlook for XRP. One Reddit user started the discussion if the bill actually changes anything for XRP adoption or if it’s more of a symbolic thing?

The draft law, called the “Clarity Act,” aims to set clear rules for digital assets. Supporters say this could reduce uncertainty that has kept banks and large institutions away from the sector.

“Banks are super paranoid about anything that’s legally unclear,” said a Reddit user 

According to the user,  even small areas of uncertainty can lead institutions to avoid a product entirely. This caution has limited interest in XRP despite its focus on cross-border payments, a use case often cited by its supporters.XRP has faced years of legal questions, including a case brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. While parts of that dispute have been settled, uncertainty has lingered.

Several investors said banks have so far avoided XRP mainly due to unclear rules.

“Banks are super paranoid about anything that’s legally unclear,” one investor said, describing how compliance teams tend to reject anything that falls into a grey area.

Some believe that if the law removes that uncertainty, banks could at least begin to explore XRP’s use in cross-border payments.

XRPL Validator Says XRP Will Lead New Wave of DeFi

XRP Ledger validator Vet has argued that XRP is set to lead the next phase of decentralized finance (DeFi).

In a post on X, Vet stated that traditional DeFi still has "a long way to go" before replacing traditional finance. Meanwhile, he believes XRP is built to drive a more sustainable transition.

According to him, the XRP protocol's design is better suited for high-value financial use cases, particularly those aiming to replicate or replace core TradFi systems.

He pointed to deliberate design choices within the XRP Ledger that prioritize stability over aggressive yield opportunities. In his view, these trade-offs make the network more robust for financial applications, even if they limit some of the upside seen in other ecosystems.

In late 2025, the cryptocurrency hit an all-time high of about $126,000 before suffering a devastating decline. The market has leveled out, and the coin’s price has hit a plateau. Prior to a sudden shift in direction, this kind of motion often occurs.

Positive Momentum

According to CMC data, bitcoin has risen to $77,985, a substantial surge, indicating that the crypto market is exhibiting indications of strength on Tuesday. Bitcoin’s price rose beyond $77,500 due to increased holdings by Strategy and positive optimism in the financial markets caused by scheduled peace negotiations between the US and Iran.

Following the $290 million hack on KelpDAO over the weekend, investors remained wary of altcoins, causing Ether (ETH) to rise only 1.24% to $2,335, lagging behind bitcoin.

As the U.S. vice president is scheduled to visit Pakistan for peace talks, the ongoing conflict in Iran continues to drive price action. Oil prices have been moving in the other direction since the conflict started, but a settlement is expected to bring them down, which would assist risk assets rise. A return to risk-on sentiment was shown by the rise in U.S. stock index futures.

At the moment, Bitcoin’s trading range is rather small. The bottom half stays close to $74,000, while the top half stays close to $78,000. Clearly, the power dynamic between buyers and sellers is quite balanced.

Crypto markets experienced a volatile weekend, marked by a major DeFi exploit, continued institutional Bitcoin accumulation, a significant U.S. legal ruling on memecoins, and the launch of a landmark tokenized gold fund in Southeast Asia.

The most significant disruption emerged from the DeFi sector, where Aave faced a sudden liquidity crunch.

The turmoil began on April 18, when attackers exploited Kelp DAO's LayerZero bridge, draining 116,500 Restaked ETH (rsETH), worth roughly $293 million. The attackers then moved quickly, using the stolen assets as collateral on Aave v3 to borrow wrapped Ether (wETH), according to Lookonchain.

Subsequently, this maneuver left the protocol saddled with approximately $195 million in bad debt.
