Revolut is pushing its public market debut further out after securing a full UK banking license and restarting its push into the United States. Chief Executive Nik Storonsky said the company plans to go public in about two years, placing any listing in 2028. The updated timeline narrows earlier guidance of two to three years and signals that the fintech group is choosing to remain private for longer as it builds out its banking model.

Storonsky said a stock market listing is not only about liquidity, but also about building trust and standing as a more established financial institution. That approach comes as Revolut moves beyond its early identity as a payments app and expands its role across banking, trading, lending, and digital assets. Founded in 2015 by Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko, the company now serves about 70 million customers and operates in more than 40 markets.

IPO Timeline Moves Back as Revolut Stays Private Longer

The company’s latest stance closes the door on expectations of a near-term offering. Revolut has used secondary share sales to provide liquidity for employees and early investors while extending its private runway. Its most recent secondary transaction, completed in November, valued the business at $75 billion, up from $45 billion a year earlier.
A further secondary sale is reportedly under consideration for 2026. That gives Revolut another route to manage shareholder liquidity before any public listing. Bloomberg previously reported that the company is targeting an IPO valuation of at least $150 billion, a figure that would place it ahead of several major European banks by market value if achieved.

Revolut’s financial profile has strengthened during this private phase. The company reported about $4 billion in revenue in 2024, up 72% from a year earlier, alongside $1.4 billion in pre-tax profit, up 149%. It later posted roughly $6 billion in revenue for 2025

Something is clearly shifting inside the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse isn’t staying quiet about it. Responding to recent comments from Paul Atkins, he described the new direction as a long-overdue reset, especially after what he sees as a difficult period for the crypto industry under earlier leadership.

From “War on Crypto” to a Reset

Garlinghouse directly contrasted Atkins’ approach with former SEC Chair Gary Gensler, saying the agency had drifted away from its core mission of protecting investors. Instead, he argues, it leaned heavily into enforcement, creating confusion and pushing innovation out of the U.S.

In his view, that period felt like a “war on technology,” with courts eventually stepping in to challenge parts of the SEC’s stance. Now, he sees things moving in a very different direction.

Moreover, this includes better coordination with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and clearer distinctions between securities and commodities. The goal is simple: reduce confusion and make the U.S. competitive again in crypto.

Having said that, even before Atkins was officially confirmed, signs of change were already visible. Under interim leadership, the SEC launched a crypto task force led by Hester Peirce and began dropping major enforcement actions, including cases against Coinbase.

In the last 12 months, the agency has also approved multiple crypto ETFs and eased its stance on classifying most cryptocurrencies as securities, a major crypto win.

What Atkins Is Actually Changing

During his interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box, Atkins laid out a clearer roadmap, and this is where the tone really takes a fresh turn. He says the SEC is moving away from that enforcement-first style and into something more structured, what he calls the ACT strategy: Advance, Clarify, Transform.

Ethereum is showing two signs of strength at the same time. One chart shows the first bullish SuperTrend flip in more than a year, while another shows $ETH still holding a long term support curve that keeps the $8,000 cycle target in play.

Ethereum SuperTrend Turns Bullish After More Than a Year

Ali Charts says Ethereum’s SuperTrend indicator has flipped bullish for the first time in over a year. The chart shows that shift clearly. $ETH is trading near $2,312, while the new buy signal appears around the $1,675 area after a long period of bearish trevnd signals.

This matters because the SuperTrend indicator is designed to track broader trend direction, not small short term moves. On this chart, the last bullish phase led into Ethereum’s rise toward the $4,000 to $5,000 range. Then the indicator turned bearish near the top and stayed negative through the long decline and choppy recovery.

Now the signal has changed again. That does not guarantee a major breakout, but it does show that Ethereum has moved back above a level that had capped the trend for months. As long as $ETH holds above the flipped support zone, the chart supports a stronger medium term recovery case rather than another brief relief rally.

Ethereum Long Term Trendline Keeps $8,000 Target in View

James argues that Ethereum can still reach $8,000, and the chart shows why that view remains active. On the weekly chart, $ETH is sitting near a rising long term trendline that has supported the market through several major cycles since 2016.
