The United States came remarkably close to becoming a net crude oil exporter last week for the first time since World War Two, as American shipments surged to meet surging international demand. The dramatic shift was triggered by disruptions to Middle Eastern oil flows following the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, which effectively halted roughly 20% of global oil and gas transit through the critical Strait of Hormuz. With Iranian threats cutting off a significant portion of worldwide energy supplies, refiners across Asia and Europe scrambled to secure alternative sources, turning heavily to the U.S. the world's largest oil producer. As a result, net U.S. crude imports narrowed to just 66,000 barrels per day (bpd), the lowest recorded level since weekly tracking began in 2001, while exports climbed to 5.2 million bpd, a seven-month high.European buyers absorbed approximately 47% of U.S. crude exports, with top destinations including the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Asia accounted for around 37%, up from 30% just a year ago, with Japan and South Korea among the leading importers. Countries like Greece and Turkey are receiving American crude for the first time in years, reflecting how dramatically global trade flows have shifted.Soaring Brent crude prices which briefly hit nearly $150 per barrel made U.S. oil significantly more attractive to overseas refiners. The Brent-WTI spread widened to over $20 per barrel, further incentivizing American exports while reducing domestic appetite for costlier imports.Despite this historic momentum, analysts warn the U.S. is fast approaching its export ceiling of roughly 6 million bpd, constrained by pipeline infrastructure and tanker availability. With freight costs rising and logistical pressures mounting, sustaining this export surge will require strategic coordination,

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said there’s a “tremendous opportunity” for a yuan-pegged stablecoin, and China could launch one within the next three to five years.

Chinese authorities have explicitly banned the offshore issuance of yuan stablecoins without regulatory approval.


Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said he sees a "tremendous opportunity" for a Chinese yuan stablecoin, particularly if Chinese authorities aim to make the yuan more competitive.

In a Thursday interview with Reuters, Allaire said that stablecoins have emerged as a new way for currencies to gain global traction, potentially supporting China's long-term goal of internationalizing the yuan.

"There's a tremendous opportunity for a yuan stablecoin," Allaire told Reuters. "If there's currency competition, you want your currency to have the best features possible. This is becoming a technological competition."

Allaire added that China could launch a yuan-backed stablecoin within the next three to five years. The Block has reached out to Circle for further comment. 

Allaire's remarks come amid growing chatter about a potential yuan stablecoin. In July 2025, Chinese tech giants Ant Group and JD reportedly urged China's central bank to authorize yuan-backed stablecoins in addition to those pegged to the Hong Kong dollar.

However, Chinese authorities have taken a cautious stance. In February 2026, the People's Bank of China and a group of key regulators issued a notice explicitly prohibiting the offshore issuance of yuan-pegged stablecoins without prior regulatory approval.

South Korea to test blockchain deposit tokens for government spending in Q4
South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance will begin testing blockchain-based deposit tokens for government spending in the fourth quarter as part of a broader push to modernize how public funds are managed.
The ministry said the pilot to spend Treasury funds as digital currency was approved under a 2026 regulatory sandbox program, local media reported.
The approval allows business promotion expenses, currently processed with government purchasing cards, to be paid using tokenized deposits.

The change alters a long-standing system governed by the Treasury Funds Management Act, which required card-based payments. In the sandbox environment, agencies will be able to operate outside those rules on a limited basis to test new methods.

Bitcoin at a Very Critical Junction! According to the Analyst, This Level Will Determine Its Fate: Pump or Dump?


The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin ($BTC), has been experiencing a surge in recent days, influenced by the ceasefire talks between the US and Iran.

After rising above $76,000, $BTC, as it has for a long time, encountered resistance and was rejected, falling back to the $74,000 level.

While bullish expectations continue due to $BTC’s recent movements, one analyst has warned of a major drop.

At this point, popular analyst Ali Martinez said that Bitcoin is at a critical juncture.

According to Martinez, Bitcoin has once again tested the 100-day moving average (SMA), which is considered a significant resistance level.

Sharing his latest analysis from account X, the analyst stated that for the third time in the last six months, $BTC has retested the 100-day SMA level on the daily chart as a resistance point.

He added that $BTC absolutely needs to hold the $73,000 level to sustain its upward momentum.

The analyst noted that the market failed to hold this level twice, once in October last year and again in January this year, and said that if it doesn’t break this resistance permanently this time, further declines could occur.

Martinez warned that a failure of the current retest could form a triple top pattern. This pattern could potentially send the Bitcoin price back to its all-time low of $59,000.

Conversely, if $BTC breaks this resistance and establishes a sustained position above the 100-day SMA, the price could rise to the $80,000-$84,000 range, he stated.
