Two suspects were arrested in San Francisco after allegedly firing at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s home early Sunday morning, the second attack on the property in three days, as federal and local prosecutors escalate charges against a separate suspect from an earlier Molotov cocktail incident. Summary Amanda Tom, 25, and Muhamad Tarik Hussein, 23, were arrested April 13 after a Honda sedan stopped outside Altman’s North Beach property and a round was allegedly fired from the passenger window. Days earlier, 20-year-old Daniel Moreno-Gama was charged with attempted murder after throwing a lit incendiary device at Altman’s home before moving on to threaten to burn down OpenAI’s headquarters. Moreno-Gama was carrying a three-part manifesto detailing anti-AI beliefs and listing names and addresses of AI executives, board members, and investors. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s San Francisco home was targeted for a second time in three days on April 13, when a Honda sedan carrying two people stopped outside the property on Lombard Street and a shot was allegedly fired from the passenger window. The San Francisco Police Department arrested Amanda Tom, 25, and Muhamad Tarik Hussein, 23, who were booked on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm. Three firearms were seized from their home following a warrant. No injuries were reported in either incident. Neo X is now connected to LayerZero’s permissionless omni-chain infrastructure, enabling cross-chain interactions, liquidity flow, and composable applications across more than 170 blockchain networks. Neo Global Development announced the partnership on April 14, marking the completion of MainNet integration for the EVM-compatible sidechain.

The milestone fulfills an integration agreement signed in March, when Neo co-founder Da Hongfei first announced that LayerZero would deploy on Neo X with a TestNet target by the end of that month. In an interview with Tanzeel Akhtar on April 10, Da confirmed that TestNet deployment had been completed on schedule and that MainNet implementation would follow shortly.

How the integration works

LayerZero is an omni-chain messaging protocol. Rather than using a traditional bridge model that locks and mints wrapped assets, it enables direct chain-to-chain communication through on-chain endpoints. When a smart contract sends a cross-chain message, the endpoint assigns verification to configurable Decentralized Verifier Networks and delegates execution to an Executor, which triggers message delivery on the destination chain. The protocol’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard allows tokens to be transferred natively across supported chains without asset wrapping or middlechains.

LayerZero deployed its contracts on Neo X TestNet and cross-chain testing was completed for both token and NFT assets ahead of the MainNet deployment, as reported last week. Integration of the USD1 stablecoin via LayerZero was also in progress as of April 9, though no completion timeline has been provided.

Reports from Everstake, the largest global non-custodial staking infrastructure provider, revealed that the Ethereum network is making history, recording over 3.6 million transactions on April 12, 2026. As of today, this figure marks the strongest daily activity on the network since its existence.

What makes this quite interesting is the fact that ETH’s price is still trading about 55% below its all-time high. The increase in on-chain activity indicates that consumers are still actively participating in the network despite the lack of price change.

Here’s why.

$BTC exchange reserves fall, retail demand weak

On one hand, exchange reserves across all exchanges have been in freefall, down to 2.683 million $BTC at the latest reading. That’s one of the lowest reserve levels seen in recent months, down from close to 3 million $BTC in late April-May 2025.

There are fewer coins on exchanges, so no one’s in a rush to sell.

At the same time, price has recovered from the early February dip. Supply is getting tighter.

But here’s where things get interesting. Spot retail activity, seen through the trading frequency surge, is the weakest it’s been in the last year. After peaking when Bitcoin traded at the ATH range, retail participation fell and hasn’t shown any muscle since.

Bull score rebounds to 40!

Put all that against Bitcoin’s Bull Score Index. The latest reading showed nearly 40, which is the highest number since October 2025.

That’s a big improvement from the weaker numbers of earlier this year, when the score briefly went toward the lower end of the scale.

The recovery isn’t over. Readings above 60 have so far come with bullish phases, particularly during $BTC’s rallies toward the $90K-$120K range in 2024 and 2025.

There’s a clear contrast with the falling exchange reserves above. While supply conditions improve, the pace is yet to fully return. So, $BTC may be moving out of its weaker phase, even if we can only see a transition rather than a full-blown breakout.

Bull Score needs to reclaim the 60+ levels in the sessions ahead for $BTC to properly rise.
