A crypto trader has taken long positions on 33 digital assets but has chosen to short only $TRUMP, the meme coin backed by President Donald Trump that has dropped 95% from its peak, according to data tracked by Lookonchain.
$TRUMP, which debuted days before Trump’s January 2025 presidential inauguration, is trading at around $3.4 at press time, down 4% in the last 24 hours, per CoinGecko.

The token has long been a matter of dispute for mixing political power with crypto markets. It has raised concerns about ethics, fairness, and conflicts of interest.

The $TRUMP token, launched in 2025, offered top holders perks such as access to Trump at a gala dinner held last May.

The project team plans to repeat the format. On April 25, a gala luncheon will be held at Mar-a-Lago, with Trump listed among the keynote speakers alongside 18 “global giants” whose identities have not been disclosed.

Attendance is capped at 297 participants and determined by a leaderboard based on $TRUMP token holdings. The top 29 holders will receive VIP benefits, including a reception with Trump, a talk on Mar-a-Lago’s history, and priority seating at the event.

Santiment reports that the $TRUMP coin recently moved independently of the wider market. Analysts also note a rise in large holders, with 83 wallets now holding more than 1 million $TRUMP as of March 16.
The token rose sharply after the May dinner announcement, then gave back part of the gains in the days that followed. It picked up again as the event approached.

A similar pattern had already played out, with $TRUMP gaining around 60% following the Mar-a-Lago announcement.

As lawmakers debate the future of stablecoin regulation in Washington, one unresolved question in the proposed CLARITY Act could have significant implications for Coinbase and other stablecoin partners’ business model: whether companies will be allowed to share yield with stablecoin holders.

The bill, which has been stalled in Congress since January, seeks to establish a regulatory framework for stablecoins — digital tokens typically pegged to the U.S. dollar. A central point of contention is whether crypto firms should be allowed to pass through the yield earned on the reserves backing those tokens. Banks and some lawmakers have pushed to prohibit interest payments, while crypto companies, including Coinbase, have argued that restricting rewards would undermine stablecoins’ utility and competitiveness.

However, this week there were some glimmer of hope from D.C. One possible deal may be that stablecoin issuers and their partners tweak the language of their offerings to make them sound distinct from bank deposits, Senator Cynthia Lummis said Wednesday.

After nearly missing out on the concluding bullish market phase, Cardano has also corrected sharply from the cycle’s peak, undermining investor confidence. However, these dark days may be coming to an end.

Key Points

For about 45 days, the price of $ADA has remained contained between support near $0.245 and resistance around $0.304, creating a tight consolidation.

During this 45-day period, $ADA retested the $0.304 resistance level three times, suggesting that selling pressure at this level may be weakening.

A confirmed move above $0.304 would shift momentum to the bullish side, clearing the path toward higher levels around $0.338 and $0.376.

The 1.618, 1.272, 0.618, and 0.236 Fibonacci levels at $0.597, $0.725, $0.966, and $1.106 are the next major resistance levels of interest if $0.376 clears.

If Cardano fails to break through the upper resistance, the lower boundary near $0.245 remains the key area to watch
