Ripple’s XRP Path to $8 Mapped: Inside the Elliott Wave Theory That Projects Major Rocket

An analyst using Elliott Wave theory has laid out a detailed roadmap that could take XRP toward $8 or higher in the coming months, provided the current corrective pattern holds.

The crypto asset spent more than six years, from 2018 through 2024, tracing a large symmetrical triangle on the weekly chart. It broke out sharply in late 2024, forming a clear five-wave impulsive advance that the analyst labels wave 1 (A).

That surge has since given way to a three-wave expanded flat correction of equal degree, which the analyst believes is either complete or very close to finishing. Price is now within a well-defined support zone that has been monitored for more than a year.

From here, the highest-probability scenario calls for a fresh five-wave impulsive rally of the same timeframe as the preceding correction. This move, counted as wave 3 or C, is expected to clear the recent high near $3.70 and reach an initial measured target around $6. Because third waves frequently extend, the analyst sees a realistic path to $8-$10 or beyond.

Once that advance concludes, the longer-term picture opens two paths: either a multi-year high-degree correction or a smaller fourth-wave pullback followed by a fifth-wave push that could eventually lift the token into the $20 range. For now, the immediate focus remains on the next leg higher to reach fresh all-time highs.

The analyst notes that swing traders riding the anticipated rally will face a practical decision on when to book profits. The entire bullish count would be invalidated by a drop below $0.39, though that level is unlikely to be reached. Nearly two years have passed since the bull market began, and the chart is now testing for a higher low to launch the next leg.

MON Price Analysis: Triple Top Formation

An analysis of the 4-hour chart calls for greater concern about Monad, as a triple top appears to have formed. A string of price developments in the past few days led to this structure, which, from a price standpoint, does not look too good for near-term trends.
The first top started forming on April 10, after a high of $0.0373. The coin consolidated around this area and then tried another breakout the next day. However, MON peaked at $0.0369, completing the first top formation.

After a wave of sideways price trends, MON attempted to break higher again. It peaked at $0.0374 on April 14, forming the second top. Prices were rejected around the same level, and Monad trended lower but tried again a few days later.

On April 16, it rallied again to an intraday high of $0.0375. The token met strong selling supply again and still couldn’t overcome it. From the high, Monad has dropped 10% to its current price level.

Triple tops suggest that an asset has not gained sufficient price momentum to forge ahead to higher prices. Repeated attempts to break above a resistance area have been met with strong rejection, and most of the time, the coin retests lower levels.

Speaking at the RWA Summit in Cannes, France, Adrien Duchâteau, Stripe's head of crypto go-to-market, said the company is now integrating stablecoins and blockchain across its core payment stack as it looks to modernize how money moves globally.

"We’re putting product by product more of our stack onchain," he said.

The move builds on the firm's long, if uneven, history with crypto. Stripe was one of the earliest major tech companies to embrace bitcoin , enabling BTC payments as early as 2014 before pulling back in 2018 as volatility made it impractical for merchants, Duchâteau said. The company returned in 2021 with a dedicated crypto team, betting that the underlying technology had matured enough to support real-world use, he added.

Dubbed Schwab Crypto, the platform will be live in the upcoming weeks and will offer direct access for retail investors to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum. 

Only the two top crypto assets will be supported for now. Other crypto assets will be added over time.

The platform will allow users to view both their crypto assets and traditional assets, including stock and ETF holdings. The launch comes after recent speculation that the firm was planning a major move into spot crypto support.

Ethereum is back in the conversation, and for good reason. Traders are starting to price in a possible move toward $3,000 by May, while XRP is still drawing attention with solid gains of its own. But the real shift in this market is happening elsewhere: a new payment token is pulling in fresh capital and forcing investors to rethink where the sharper upside may actually be.

Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Really Push to $3K by May?
Ethereum is trading around $2,452.04, up 4.99% in the last 24 hours and 9.30% over the past week. That kind of move does not happen in a vacuum. It shows buyers are active and keeps ETH firmly in the conversation as one of the few large-cap cryptos still capable of grinding higher with real credibility.

Ethereum also has the kind of network activity that keeps it relevant. It remains the backbone for DeFi, stablecoin flows, and a huge share of on-chain applications, which means it continues to attract transactions even when the broader market cools.

That said, ETH is still a mature asset. It can absolutely keep climbing, but explosive upside is harder to unlock at this stage unless the market gets a stronger catalyst. A move to $3,000 by May is plausible, but it would still be a large-cap run, not an early-stage breakout.

Iran's Friday announcement that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened during the current ceasefire triggered one of the sharpest oil reversals of the year.

Brent crude fell 12.95% to $86.52, and WTI dropped 14.26% to $81.19, both their lowest levels since Mar. 11 and the largest single-day declines since Apr. 8. US stocks surged, bond yields dropped, the dollar weakened, and Bitcoin registered an intraday high of $78,336.

Traders stripped the war premium they had spent weeks layering into crude prices, and risk assets repriced accordingly.

Yesterday, the Strait was opened on Iranian terms. Commercial vessels required authorization from Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization and the IRGC and had to transit through Iran-designated safe lanes, but the US blockade on Iranian shipping remains fully in place until a broader diplomatic settlement.

That window has already narrowed. As of Apr. 18, Iran said it had closed the Strait again after the US left its blockade in place, pushing the market back into a countdown toward the Apr. 22 ceasefire deadline.

Only eight oil and gas tankers moved during the reopening, underscoring how far the route remains from anything resembling normal traffic.
