1️⃣ Mining profitability is getting tighter
Mining margins have been under pressure as hashprice dropped below $30 per PH/s, significantly reducing profitability for miners.
At the same time, after the latest halving, the block reward is now 3.125 BTC per block, producing roughly 450 BTC of new supply every day.
However, operational costs like electricity, infrastructure, and hardware maintenance remain high.
As a result, many miners are choosing to sell part of their BTC reserves to maintain cash flow.
2️⃣ Major mining companies are already selling
Since October 2025, publicly listed miners have sold more than 15,000 BTC.
Some of the largest sales include:

Despite these sales, total miner holdings still sit around 1,780,305 BTC.
