On April 15, Aster once again witnessed a downward trend following a long consolidation pattern, declining its value below $0.67.

At present, the crypto market is in a calm state with quite bullish sentiment after Bitcoin ($BTC) surpassed a major market of $74,000 in the recent trading sessions. Steady inflows in Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that recorded hundreds of millions in weekly net purchases.

Apart from this, the regulatory developments from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are also playing a major role in the rally in the crypto market. On April 13, the SEC issued a staff statement covering interfaces that prepare transactions involving crypto asset securities. This has opened a door for a crypto trading interface to operate without broker-dealer registration.

However, one of the biggest moments that triggered a rally in $BTC was U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to declare a two-week ceasefire in the U.S.-Iran war. This announcement has given major relief to the financial world and immediately sent Bitcoin ($BTC) above $70,000. A similar rally has also been witnessed in other altcoins, such as Ethereum.

The price chart for Aster is confirming ongoing selling pressure around $0.66. The moving average resistance is blocking any chance of a rebound. This might trigger a major drop in the cryptocurrency’s price.

Bitcoin Exchange Upbit Adds This Fan Token to Its Trading Alert List! Here Are the Details

Upbit, one of South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, announced that it has added the SPURS token to its “trading alert” list as part of its investor protection policies.

The exchange stated in its announcement that the decision was made in accordance with the audit processes implemented within the framework of the Digital Asset Exchanges Joint Advisory Board (DAXA).

According to the statement, reviews of the SPURS/BTC trading pair revealed that the token’s market capitalization and overall performance fell short of expectations, potentially posing risks to investors. Therefore, Upbit has temporarily placed the asset under monitoring to ensure user security.

The alert period will begin on April 16, 2026 at 17:30 and continue until July 16, 2026. During this time, the token’s status will be examined in detail, and a decision will be made on whether to continue trading support. The alert may be lifted, the period extended, or the token may be delisted entirely.

As part of the decision, deposit transactions for the SPURS token have also been temporarily suspended. Officials warned that deposits made after the specified date may not be reflected in user accounts and may be difficult to recover.

Upbit emphasized that it will continue to take steps to protect investors in line with its principles of regular auditing and transparency. Experts note that such warning decisions are generally aimed at increasing market discipline against high-risk assets.

Charles Hoskinson Says 34% of Bitcoin Could Be Stolen by Quantum Computers in 2030s

Charles Hoskinson used a lengthy video address this week to deliver what he described as a long overdue reckoning for Bitcoin maximalists, centred on a quantum computing threat he says is no longer theoretical and a proposed fix he says does not actually work.

As of March 1, 2026, over 34% of all Bitcoin has had its public key exposed on-chain, either through address reuse or legacy pay-to-public-key-hash formats. That represents approximately 8 million Bitcoin that could be stolen by an attacker with a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. Based on current research timelines, Hoskinson places that threat arriving in the 2030s.

“Not hypothetically one magical day in the future when unicorns fart rainbows,” he said. “In the 2030s. Right in front of your face.”

The Proposal That Does Not Solve the Problem

A Bitcoin Improvement Proposal currently circulating, BIP-361, attempts to address the vulnerability by freezing quantum-vulnerable funds and forcing a migration to post-quantum addresses. Hoskinson spent considerable time dissecting why he believes it fails on its own terms.

The proposal claims to be a soft fork. Hoskinson says it is not. It would require a hard fork, something Bitcoin has never done and, by the religion of its maximalist community, never will.

More critically, the proposed zero-knowledge proof recovery system only works for wallets built on the BIP-39 seed phrase standard, which was not introduced until 2013. Approximately 1.7 million Bitcoin, including an estimated 1.1 million belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto, exist in legacy wallet formats that predate this standard. There is no zero-knowledge proof that can recover those coins.
