On April 3rd, the crypto market witnessed a slowdown in recovery momentum as its market cap held at $2.3 trillion with an intraday gain of just 0.7%. This weak bullish momentum followed the release of March 2026 jobs data at 178,000, by the Bureau of Labor Statistics..

The unemployment rate decreased to 4.3% in March as compared to 4.4% in February.

These numbers are an indication of revival in the labor market after the hiccup in the last month. Consequently, the Federal Reserve will most probably hold the interest rates constant during its next meeting, opting to watch whether the recovery in the job creation will be sustainable upon the temporary distortion caused by the strike subside.

Chainlink whales with over one million $LINK tokens grew by 25 percent in the last year, as Santiment data shows. On April 2, 2025, there were 100 wallets in this threshold and currently the number stood at 125.

The following chart shows this growth as a blue line overlaid on the candlestick price moves of $LINK between the end of March 2024 and the beginning of April 2026. Judge continues Nevada ban on Kalshi sports markets
A state judge in Nevada extended a temporary ban on prediction market provider Kalshi's sports-related contracts in the Silver State on Friday.

Judge Jason Woodbury in the First Judicial District Court told attorneys at a hearing in the Carson City courthouse that he would also grant the Nevada Gaming Control Board's request to impose a preliminary injunction against Kalshi banning it from offering some of its prediction markets until a broader court case from the state gaming regulator could be resolved. He extended the temporary restraining order he first granted on March 20 by two weeks to sort out the language of the injunction, Reuters reported Friday.

The judge's original temporary restraining order blocked Kalshi from offering sports, entertainment and election-related bets.

The judge said buying a contract on a baseball game on Kalshi was "indistinguishable" from placing a bet on a state gaming platform, Reuters reported.

"So I find based on the arguments that ​have been presented that it is a gaming activity that is prohibited for any non-licensee ​to engage in," he said.

Spokespeople for Kalshi and the Nevada Gaming Control Board did not return requests for comments.

State regulators have moved to block prediction market providers in much of the U.S., arguing that these companies' sports-related products appear to be gambling products that should be regulated at the state level. Kalshi and other prediction market providers argue that they are federally regulated designated contract markets offering swaps, a type of derivative product, and therefore are not subject to state regulators.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, helmed by Chairman Mike Selig, has taken a stance agreeing with these companies. It filed an amicus brief in an appeals court case earlier this year, and sued Arizona, Illinois and Connecticut on Thursday alongside the Department of Justice, arg

Bitcoin has extended its decline into a sixth consecutive month after peaking at an all-time high of $126,000. While the correction is already substantial, on-chain and market data suggest it may not be over.

Price is approaching a critical support zone where a large share of long-term holders previously accumulated. A breakdown at this level could open the door to a move toward $50,000.

Institutional selling adds to downside risk

The recent 1% reduction in corporate Bitcoin [$BTC] treasuries comes amid mounting pressures, including debt obligations and persistent market weakness. While modest in size, the shift is notable given the typically long-term orientation of institutional holders.

Recent disclosures tracked by AMBCrypto showed that at least four corporate entities reduced their Bitcoin exposure between March and early April.

Mara Holdings led the sell-off, liquidating 15,133 $BTC valued at over $1 billion in March. Riot Platforms and Empery Digital followed, offloading a combined 2,295 $BTC worth approximately $156 million as of the 2nd of April.

Despite these sales, corporate entities still control roughly 1.16 million $BTC, valued at around $77 billion. However, this sizable position is increasingly vulnerable as Bitcoin trades near the aggregate cost basis of a key long-term holder cohort—one that overlaps with institutional accumulation levels.

Long-term holder cost basis comes into focus

On-chain data from the UTXO Realized Price Age Distribution highlights a critical development. The metric tracks the average acquisition price of Bitcoin across different holding periods, offering insight into investor positioning.

Current data shows Bitcoin nearing the $63,049 cost basis for holders who accumulated between 18 months and two years ago. This level now acts as a potential inflection point.
