The Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines (Securities and Exchange Commission (Philippines)) has issued a new investor alert warning the public against using or investing in several unregistered crypto trading platforms.
The warning specifically names dYdX, Aevo, gTrade, Pacifica, Orderly, Deriv, and Ostium, stating that none of these platforms are registered or authorized under the country’s Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) regulatory framework.
According to the regulator, these platforms are operating without the required approval to offer services to Filipino users. The SEC also warned that individuals promoting or facilitating access to these services within the country could face serious legal consequences.
Penalties may include fines of up to 5 million Philippine pesos (approximately $89,000) and imprisonment of up to 21 years, depending on the severity of the violation.
The warning reflects the Philippines’ increasing focus on tightening oversight of the crypto sector, particularly regarding offshore exchanges and derivatives platforms operating without local licensing.
Regulators continue to emphasize investor protection, urging the public to verify platform legitimacy before engaging in trading or investment activities.
Overall, the move highlights a broader global trend of stricter enforcement as governments work to bring crypto activity under formal regulatory frameworks.

Crypto Founder Explains Why ‘Altcoin Season’ May Not Return the Way It Used To


The crypto sector faces a structural crisis after six years of decline, where $4 trillion valuations hid a lack of actual incoming capital.

Projects with locked supplies of up to 90% allowed teams and insiders to manipulate prices and extract liquidity from current retail investors.

The Altcoin Season Index currently stands at 41 points, remaining far from the peak of 78 reached in September 2025.

The co-founder of Glyde, known as Sweep, issued a stark warning regarding the future of Altcoin Season. The expert explained that the sector’s problems are not macroeconomic, but rather structural distribution flaws.

Market cap figures of $4 trillion are—according to Sweep—an illusion created by locked supplies and manipulated prices. The real money that entered the ecosystem represents only a fraction of the values officially reported.

A token with a $2 billion market cap and only 5% float possesses only $100 million in tradable value. The rest is team inventory that constantly exerts downward price pressure.

Technical analysis reveals that the extraction pattern begins with launches where 90% of the supply remains locked. This allows for the presentation of massive fully diluted valuations (FDV) that do not correspond with the real liquidity on the books.
