Bitcoin’s rally above $76,000 has slowed as short-term traders locked in profits, selling around 63,000 BTC within 24 hours. This marks the highest level of profit-taking activity in 2026 and suggests that many traders are choosing to secure gains near key resistance levels.

At the same time, long-term holders and whales are showing strong accumulation behavior. Over 71,000 BTC flowed into accumulation addresses in a single day, indicating that large investors are buying the supply being sold by short-term traders. This dynamic reflects a shift of Bitcoin from weaker hands to stronger hands.

This opposing activity is creating a temporary pause in momentum. While profit-taking is adding selling pressure, whale demand is helping stabilize the price and preventing a deeper drop.

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin faced rejection near the 100-day EMA and pulled back toward the $73,500 level. Liquidity zones are forming around $73,000 and $72,000, which could act as short-term support levels before the next move.

Liquidation data also shows that significant long positions are at risk between $73,000 and $70,500, suggesting the possibility of a short-term dip before continuation. On the upside, a move toward $80,000 could trigger large short liquidations and fuel another rally.

Overall, the market is currently in a cooling phase, with profit-taking and accumulation balancing each other. A brief pullback may occur before Bitcoin attempts another move higher.
