On-chain research firms and cycle analysts are projecting late 2026 as the most likely time for Bitcoin to make its cycle low. Those who agree with this scenario note that a further macroeconomic deterioration or a regulatory crackdown could cause the price to bottom in 2027.

The global crypto market has witnessed some heavy sell-off over the first half of 2026. Its cumulative market cap stands at around $2.18 trillion. Bitcoin price is down by more than 27% on the year-to-date (YTD).

A Glassnode report highlights Q3 as a possible bottom, noting early accumulation, while Mudrex Learn suggests October 2026 to December 2026 as the most probable period, with a low of $50,000 to $55,000, according to Anupam Dodecha's analysis.

Both on-chain research firms suggest a market closer to a bottom than to a top. Mudrex report notes that Bitcoin recently hit a low of $60,000 in recent weeks before recovering, a bounce it read as evidence of buyer support rather than a confirmed floor. As of July 12, The Motley Fool put Bitcoin near $63,853, saying the crypto was in its worst bear market since 2022.

The halving makes late 2026 the most probable time for Bitcoin to bottom.

Mudrex highlights the four-yearly halving that occurred in April 2024 as a reason to expect a bottom in the late 2026 time frame. The analyst notes that previous cycles saw a bottom between 24 and 28 months after the event, putting the focus on mid-2026 to late 2026.

Trading activity in the cryptocurrency market has slowed significantly, with weekly trading volume falling to its lowest level since 2026. According to the latest data shared by Kaiko, a data and analysis provider for digital asset markets, the total trading volume in the cryptocurrency market last week was approximately $15 billion. This figure represents a significant decline compared to levels at the beginning of the year.

According to Kaiko’s analysis, the highest trading volume of the year was recorded in January. At that time, the total volume in the markets was approximately three times the current level. According to the latest data, trading volume has decreased by approximately 70% compared to the peak level in January.

Experts say the decline in trading volume reflects a weakening of investors’ risk appetite. They note that in a low-volume environment, price movements in the market can become more fragile, and even relatively small buy or sell orders can increase volatility. Therefore, investors are advised to be more cautious about sudden price fluctuations during periods of low liquidity.

According to market analysts, there are multiple reasons behind the decline in trading volume. Ongoing uncertainties in the global economy, cautious expectations regarding central bank monetary policies, increased selectivity among institutional investors, and the seasonal slowdown in trading traditionally seen during the summer months are among the main factors supporting this decline.

Flare, the blockchain that lets $XRP be used in decentralized finance, told CoinDesk on Monday that its wrapped version of the token has been accepted as collateral by Sentora, which manages a $280 million lending pool of Ripple's $RLUSD stablecoin.

Borrowers post the wrapped $XRP, called FXRP, and take out $RLUSD against it.

The approval opens an isolated FXRP/$RLUSD market on Morpho Blue where holders can borrow against $XRP exposure rather than sell it. Access is permissionless with no whitelist required.

Bitcoin neared $64,000 in Asian morning hours Tuesday, up 2% over 24 hours and 1% on the week, recovering the $63,000 level it lost during Monday's session. The low came near $62,250 before a steady bid carried it to just above $64,100 overnight.

Ether lagged near $1,865, up marginally on the day but still down 1% over seven days, the only major in the red on the weekly view. XRP rose almost 1% to $1.08 and is up 2% on the week. BNB added 1.5% to nearly $591 and leads the majors over seven days at almost 5%.

Solana gained over 1% to nearly $74, tron 1% to 33 cents and dogecoin the same to 7 cents. Hyperliquid's HYPE bounced over 4% to $54 after last week's slide, though it remains down 3% over seven days.

The recovery came without any resolution to the Coldcard situation. A fourth wave of sweeps against addresses generated by the affected firmware ran through Monday, taking roughly 449 bitcoin from 709 addresses on the revised count, and Galaxy Research has not confirmed whether the same operator is behind it.

Equities offered a mixed handoff. MSCI's Asia Pacific gauge fell 0.7%, its second straight decline, with Korea's Kospi dropping 1.1% after being up 2.1% earlier and a regional semiconductor index off 1%.

Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.4%, helped by Palantir gaining 14% after hours on raised guidance, while Amazon fell 1.6% post-market after Jeff Bezos disclosed a share sale.

Watch whether bitcoin can hold above $63,000 through the U.S. session. The level has been reclaimed and lost twice in three days, and a third failure would suggest fewer buyers are stepping in below $62,500 each time.
