Dormant $1.9M Bitcoin tied to New York lawsuit moves after nearly 15 yearsA dormant Bitcoin address transferred 30 $BTC worth about $1.88 million for the first time in almost 15 years.

Bitcoin address "1KV47" made its first outgoing transfer on Saturday since receiving 30 $BTC in August 2011, blockchain data shared by Galaxy Research shows.

The address is among 39,069 listed in a New York lawsuit filed by "Noah Doe" and two Wyoming-based companies seeking ownership of dormant Bitcoin holdings. The case could test how inactive cryptocurrency holdings are treated under the state's lost-property law.

The listed addresses include those widely associated with Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto and collectively hold an estimated 3.7 million $BTC worth about $234 billion, according to Sani, founder of analytics platform Timechain Index.

More dormant Bitcoin addresses tied to the New York lawsuit have been waking up, with 31 of them moving 17,527 $BTC in June, up from five that transferred 4,834 $BTC in February, according to Galaxy Digital head of research Alex Thorn.

Bitcoin $BTC$62,867.66 has dropped by 28% so far this year, a brutal slide that looks even worse through the lens of the Sharpe Ratio, a metric professional investors use to determine what slice of their portfolio should be allocated to a specific asset.

The Sharpe Ratio is the gold standard for measuring risk-adjusted returns and was developed by Nobel Prize-winning economist William F. Sharpe.

Bitcoin's 365-day rolling Sharpe Ratio plummeted to -21 at the end of June, the lowest since late 2022, according to data source CryptoQuant. It was recently hovering just short of -20.

$SOL pauses after a 14% weekly rally, but rising institutional interest, strengthening derivatives data, and growing on-chain activity continue to support the case for further upside.

While the recent rally has temporarily stalled around the $81.63 resistance level, improving institutional participation, stronger derivatives positioning, and expanding on-chain activity suggest the broader bullish trend remains intact.

As long as $SOL continues to hold above key support levels, the cryptocurrency could be positioned for another attempt at higher prices.
Institutional sentiment toward Solana appears to be improving.

According to CoinGlass data, US-listed spot Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $5.8 million in net inflows during the previous week, reversing the prior week's $1.8 million in net outflows.

The return to positive flows indicates renewed investor interest, and continued inflows could provide additional support for $SOL in the weeks ahead.

Network activity continues to strengthen across the Solana ecosystem.

According to Solana's official X account, tokenized asset spot trading volume reached $5.7 billion during the second quarter, more than doubling from $2.7 billion recorded in the first quarter.

The increase reflects growing adoption of tokenized assets on the network while highlighting expanding institutional participation and increasing demand for Solana-based applications.

The derivatives market also reinforces the bullish narrative.

Solana futures Open Interest (OI) climbed to $5.8 billion over the weekend, marking its highest level since mid-May before easing slightly to approximately $5.6 billion on Monday.

Higher open interest typically signals increasing trader participation and growing conviction behind the prevailing market trend.

Talk of a new altcoin cycle is starting to pick up again.

Based on how this week has played out, that narrative is beginning to gain traction. On the weekly timeframe, while Bitcoin [$BTC] is up more than 5%, Ethereum [$ETH] has attracted 2x the capital inflows, pushing the $ETH/$BTC ratio up nearly 7%. More importantly, this marks the ratio’s strongest weekly gain since August 2025, reinforcing the idea that “altcoin-led” momentum is starting to build across the market.

Ripple hasn’t been left behind. As the chart below shows, the token is up nearly 9% this week, with its highest wick reaching $1.18, a level it hadn’t reclaimed since losing it in mid-June. That move points to strong buying interest as capital continues rotating into higher-beta altcoins.

Against this backdrop, leaning long on $XRP isn’t a stretch. In fact, an analyst recently flagged a whale opening a $16 million $XRP long at an average entry of $1.10. At the time of writing, the position was already sitting on roughly $477,000 in unrealized profit.

With altcoin momentum continuing to build, this doesn’t look like a random high-leverage bet. If anything, it signals growing conviction that $XRP still has room to move higher as capital continues rotating into altcoins. That naturally raises the question: Is $XRP’s current setup quietly turning into a textbook bear trap?
