Long-term bitcoin $BTC$62,750.45 holders appear to be done cashing out for now.

These "OGs", the legendary investors who have held their coins for at least five years, have hit a significant lull in their selling activity. The 90-day moving average of coins spent by these long-term holders has dropped to just 962 $BTC, the lowest level seen since late 2024, according to data source CryptoQuant.

"Today, the 90-day average of $BTC spent by these OGs has dropped below 1 000, sitting at 962, its lowest level since November 2024. At current prices, these investors are choosing to continue holding rather than sell, thereby contributing to the easing of selling pressure," CryptoQuant's analyst said on X.

To understand why this matters, it's imperative to look at the spending patterns of these "Original Gangsters" over the past two years. The bull cycle that began in early 2023 has actually seen the most aggressive OG selling in bitcoin’s history. Selling was especially intense last year, when $BTC traded above $100,000.

Every time the price surged, these long-term holders hit the "sell" button in massive waves, creating huge "peaks" in May 2024, February 2025, and September 2025.

Analysts track this using a metric called spent transaction outputs (STXO), which, in simple terms, tracks the movement of $BTC on the blockchain. An OG moving coins after holding them for half a decade is almost always a sign of impending liquidation or profit-taking.

During the peak of the bullish cycle, single-day sell-offs sometimes exceeded 142,000 $BTC, sending shockwaves through the market.

But that's not the case anymore.

The timing of this slowdown in OG selling is not a coincidence, according to analysts at CryptoQuant. Currently, bitcoin is trading around $63,000, which, as it turns out, could be the "break-even" point for the most expensive coins this group c

Ethereum's latest "funding crisis" has triggered a fierce debate over whether to tax staking rewards or to pursue funding from large ETH holders for new organizations like EthLabs. Ethereum is running out of money, according to former insiders.

The warning has sparked one of the fiercest Ethereum governance debates in months: should the network fund developers by taxing staking rewards, or just rely on wealthy Ether holders to bankroll its ecosystem?

Binary Options Introduced Through Retail Brokerage Channels

Cboe Global Markets (CBOE) announced on June 23, 2026, the launch of Cboe Predicts, a new suite of binary options linked to the Mini-S&P 500 Index (XSP).

The first contracts, listed under symbols XSPBW and XSPBX, are now available through Interactive Brokers, marking the initial phase of distribution through retail brokerage platforms, with additional firms expected to integrate access over time.

Charles Schwab is among the brokerages preparing to offer the contracts, reflecting a broader rollout strategy centered on intermediated trading systems rather than direct exchange access.

The product is built around XSP, which tracks the S&P 500 Index at one-tenth the size of standard SPX contracts. This smaller scale reduces capital requirements while maintaining exposure to the broader equity benchmark.

Cboe Global Markets stated:

Traders can express a view on where XSP may close by taking a ‘yes’ position (paying $100 if the index settles at or above a specified level, or $0 otherwise) or a ‘no’ position (paying $100 if it settles below that level, or $0 otherwise).”

Execution remains within existing listed options infrastructure, with trades routed through regulated brokerage platforms that already support equity derivatives.

Clearing Infrastructure and Product Expansion Plans

The contracts are cleared through the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), which manages settlement and counterparty risk for U.S.-listed options. This integration places the binary products within established regulatory and operational frameworks governing exchange-traded derivatives.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has on Tuesday marked the rocket and satellite company’s inaugural bond sale, after it raised at least $25 billion in a senior unsecured notes offering less than two weeks after going public in a record IPO.

As previously reported by Cryptopolitan last week, the debt sale was said to be in preparation and core to providing relief for SpaceX’s capital-intensive AI demands.

The offering will span maturities of 5, 7, 10, 20, and 30 years, according to a document reviewed by Reuters. SpaceX plans to direct the proceeds toward repayments of its bridge loan facility and other corporate purposes, with its artificial intelligence expansion consuming the bulk of the planned investment.

Investor appetite for the debt sale has been overwhelming, with orders reportedly hitting almost $85 billion, more than three times the offering size, according to Reuters. The banks running the debt sale include the Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley.
