Shiba Inu is facing renewed selling pressure after one of the token’s earliest and largest holders resumed his distribution campaign.

Arkham has indexed a series of large transfers linked to a wallet widely known for accumulating SHIB during the project’s earliest days. The wallet possesses the tag “$13,752 bought 103 trillion SHIB,” reflecting his early acquisition of the prominent meme coin.

On Monday, the whale moved approximately 600 billion SHIB, worth roughly $2.83 million at the time, to the ForwarderV4 wallet, an address associated with distribution activity.
Notably, the transaction came at a time when Shiba Inu (SHIB) is struggling to regain momentum. The token is down over 18% this month, dropping to multi-year lows around $0.00000453.

Bitcoin's $BTC$62,436.82 fall below $60,000 on June 5, its lowest level since late 2024, reflects a convergence of macroeconomic and structural pressures, according to Deutsche Bank (DB), which said $BTC is increasingly trading like an institutional risk asset rather than a retail-driven speculative bet.

The investment bank said bitcoin's renewed sell-off was driven by a hawkish shift in Federal Reserve expectations, sustained outflows from U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), a confidence shock following Strategy's (MSTR) first $BTC sale since 2022, and a broader rotation of investor capital into artificial intelligence.

"Bitcoin is not disappearing; it is maturing into an institutional asset whose price is set by fund flows, Fed expectations, competing risk themes, and legislative outcomes," analyst Marion Laboure said in the Tuesday report.

$BTC has struggled in recent weeks, briefly falling below $60,000 on June 5 before rebounding to around $62,000-$63,000. Bitcoin remains more than 50% below its October 2025 record high, pressured by a hawkish shift in Federal Reserve expectations, persistent outflows from spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds and a broader pullback in risk appetite.

While investors may see signs of stabilization near current levels, some analysts say bitcoin's near-term direction will likely depend on whether institutional demand returns and macroeconomic conditions improve.

Deutsche Bank's economists now expect the Fed to raise interest rates twice in 2026, reversing earlier expectations that monetary policy would ease. The shift removes a key support that had underpinned institutional demand for bitcoin and other risk assets, the report said.

Ripple has received preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider licence from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, opening the door to full-scale regulated payments services across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area.

It is one of the most significant regulatory wins in the company’s history. And within hours, a familiar question was back on social media: what does any of this mean for $XRP holders?

What Ripple Just Achieved
The green light letter from Luxembourg’s CSSF, issued under the EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets regulation, allows Ripple to offer its complete cryptoasset and stablecoin payments infrastructure to banks, fintechs and corporates across Europe through a single integration.

Combined with its existing EU Electronic Money Institution licence, European financial institutions can now access Ripple’s collect, exchange and payout services under one unified regulatory roof for the first time.

The Question Retail Holders Are Asking
The celebration was not universal. $XRP community members voiced a frustration shared widely across retail holders.

“This does nothing once again for retail $XRP holders,” he wrote.

They also criticized Ripple’s push to promote $RLUSD and the stablecoin sandwich solution to cross-border payments.

The concern is important because Ripple’s institutional expansion is real and accelerating. But if cross-border payment flows route primarily through $RLUSD rather than $XRP, retail holders may find themselves adjacent to the growth rather than central to it.

Ripple maintains that $XRP and $RLUSD are complementary, with $XRP serving as a bridge asset where stablecoins cannot.

Bitcoin's futures market has undergone a sharp leverage reset. Traders are now watching whether the next move will be driven by spot demand rather than derivatives speculation. Data shared by Cryptoquant on June 22 showed total $BTC Open Interest across exchanges falling from $26.0 billion to $20.89 billion during June.

The drop in futures exposure outpaced the decline in price. Bitcoin fell from roughly $71,200 at the start of the month to $63,234 by June 21, down 11.4%, while Open Interest contracted 19.5%, indicating futures exposure was reduced more aggressively than the decline in $BTC price.

Referring to the decline in futures positioning and the reduction in leveraged exposure across the market, the analyst stated:

"So far, the data shows that excess leverage has been reduced."

Traders often track the relationship between price and Open Interest to assess market structure. During the first week of June, $BTC fell to a local low of $60,900 on June 6 while Open Interest dropped from $26.0 billion to about $22.4 billion, a pattern consistent with liquidations and position reductions rather than a buildup of new leveraged positions.

XRP is trading within a large rounding bottom on the weekly timeframe, and a breakout could push its price into double digits.

After a good start to the week, XRP has begun trending lower again. Over the past 24 hours, it has corrected by almost 2%, dropping from its intraweek high of $1.16 to the current price of $1.11.

Still, chart analysis shows that XRP remains on course for an outsized upward move, one that could take its price to unprecedented levels.

Looking at the weekly chart, we can see a large rounding bottom structure that XRP has strictly followed for months now. Since its July 2025 all-time high of $3.66, the coin has consistently aligned itself to the first part of this classic U-shaped pattern, making lower highs and lower lows.

Notably, the rounding bottom is a long-term reversal pattern, where momentum gradually shifts from bearish to bullish. Prices trend lower to the shape’s bottom, then bearish exhaustion kicks in. From the bottom’s support, bulls start to gain strength, pushing the asset higher to fill up the curve. What follows is a breakout to new heights.

Currently, XRP is at the bottom of this shape around the $1.10 support level. Notably, this aligns with a major area during the 2021 cycle where prices repeatedly faced rejection before breaking above in November 2024. Holding this support is crucial as it not only validates the rounding bottom pattern but also prevents prices from crashing to lower levels.

Wintermute said crypto markets absorbed a risk reset before U.S. equities could fully respond, after the Federal Reserve held rates steady and U.S.-Iran talks lost momentum.

The market maker’s June 22 update said Bitcoin fell while stocks were still shielded by the Juneteenth market closure. It framed the move as a timing gap between always-open crypto trading and delayed equity price action.

Meanwhile, the Fed kept its target range at 3.50%-3.75%, but the message around policy changed. Wintermute said the statement became shorter, the easing bias disappeared, and officials moved closer to rate hikes than cuts.

The firm quoted the shift as one reason traders grew more cautious on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other liquid crypto assets. At the same time, lower oil prices did not remove the rate concern, because markets focused on wider inflation pressure and a Fed that now sounded less willing to guide investors toward future cuts.

Bitcoin traded near the low $60,000s after rising close to $67,000 earlier in the week. Wintermute said $BTC closed down 3.8%, while Ethereum lost 1.2% and altcoins were roughly flat. The firm said the failed signing of the Iran deal forced crypto to price in risk while equity markets were closed.

The update described the move as another leverage flush. Long positions faced far larger losses than shorts, showing that traders had leaned too heavily toward a rebound. Wintermute said Ethereum gave the clearest weak signal after losing the $2,000 area again and moving toward the mid-$1,700s.

As crypto.news reported on June 23, Bitcoin fell to an intraday low near $62,560 before stabilizing around $62,800. The same update said spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded another $68 million in outflows. Analysts cited in the report watched the $62,000 area as near support, with the June low near $59,200 below it.
