The development arrives as CC attempts to rebound from a key technical support level, setting up a potential clash between strengthening fundamentals and compressed price action.Interestingly, the adoption milestone comes while the token continues to trade within a relatively tight range.

On the daily chart, price recently bounced from a flag support near $0.1497. The level has acted as a key area of demand during the current consolidation phase. At the same time, the Relative Strength Index has fallen into oversold territory as of writing.

That combination warrants attention as oversold readings frequently appear as selling pressure fades. When they coincide with strong support levels, traders typically start looking for signs of a reversal. However, the market is yet to deliver a decisive breakout despite the optimistic technical indicators.

What makes the current setup interesting is the growing gap between network activity and price performance. Fee generation continues to rise, pointing to increasing usage among institutional participants. Meanwhile, Canton remains compressed within its broader structure.

Markets do not always react immediately to fundamental developments. In numerous instances, adoption trends build quietly before they become reflected in price. That appears to be the situation developing here as institutional players seems to be fueling the current rally.

At press time, Open Interest surged 5% to 29 million, highlighting rising institutional demand over the past 24 hours, and this ripple effect may soon appear on the daily chart.

The report references several third-party forecasts. According to the article, Standard Chartered believes $XRP could reach $8 if spot $XRP ETFs attract significant investor demand and U.S. regulations become more supportive of digital assets.

The article also cites analysts on TradingView who expect $XRP to rise toward $3.30 and $8.50 after breaking out of a long-term symmetrical triangle pattern.

Other long-term models mentioned in the report are even more optimistic. They project $XRP could reach $12.04 in the medium term and climb to $26 by 2030 with ETF adoption.

X user Tom highlighted the article and argued that both Standard Chartered and Fidelity were pointing toward an $8 $XRP target. Citing a breakout and successful retest of a nine-year consolidation pattern, he expects $XRP to reach between $8 and $10 before year-end.

The article also highlights strong whale activity. It claimed wallets holding at least 1 million $XRP accumulated 1.53 billion tokens over the past six months. Accordingly, he claimed these wallets now control roughly 74.1% of $XRP’s circulating supply.

Notably, the data comes from a previous on-chain report from analytics firm Santiment. In May, The Crypto Basic reported that $XRP whale wallets holding more than 10 million $XRP reached an 8-year high. Their holdings totaled 45.83B $XRP, about 74% of the supply, the highest since May 2018.

XRP Whale Fights $30 Million Liquidation, Banking on Historical July Rally

A major trader on Hyperliquid risks losing a giant $XRP position worth more than $30 million in one fell swoop. According to data from the analytics platform Onchain Lens, the address "0xf79C...9BbD" opened a long position of 27.9 million $XRP using 20x leverage, while the total value of the open notional position is estimated at $30.9 million.

However, because of the high leverage, the liquidation price is set at $0.92.

At the moment, the trade is already bringing the investor major losses. The current price of the asset has dropped to around $1.10, causing the floating unrealized loss on $XRP to exceed -$672,000.

The situation is worsened by the fact that the trader is also holding another large position — a long Bitcoin position of 809.9 BTC, worth $50.6 million, also with 20x leverage. At the moment, the total weekly loss across the entire portfolio stands at -$3,400,520, while the available free margin on the account has been completely depleted.

This leaves the trader without the ability to defend the positions unless new funds are deposited.
