Summary Chainlink price remains range-bound between $8 and $10 after dropping over 40% from its January high, with technical indicators hinting at a potential breakout. A bullish SMA crossover, along with rising RSI and MACD, suggests momentum is building, with upside targets at $12 and $14 if resistance breaks. Partnerships, whale accumulation, and growing LINK reserves are tightening supply and could act as key catalysts for a sustained rally. According to data from crypto.news, the Chainlink (LINK) price fell over 40% from its January high of $14.12 to a yearly low of $7.93 in February. It has since entered into a consolidation phase between the $8 and $10 range as liquidity remains fragmented across the decentralized finance sector. Despite the recent stagnation, a look at charts reveals several conditions that are close to completion that could potentially empower the token to exit from consolidation and potentially spark a sustained rally. On the daily chart, Chainlink price appears to be approaching a bullish crossover between the 50-day SMA and the 100-day SMA. Such a crossover, which indicates strengthening medium-term momentum, has previously been a precursor to significant parabolic moves. Elliptic also described Grinex as one of the largest venues for exchanging Russian rubles into crypto assets. Elliptic further connected Grinex’s rise to Garantex, a Russian exchange that has been sanctioned by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and targeted for laundering “hundreds of millions of dollars” associated with ransomware, darknet markets, and state-sponsored hacking groups.  Links Between Grinex And GarantexIn that case, Elliptic worked with the US Secret Service to identify crypto wallets controlled by Garantex, a step that helped enable the freezing of $26 million in stablecoins. According to Elliptic, Grinex is likely to have common ownership and management with Garantex and was created as a response to the sanctions imposed on Garantex. Ripple’s dollar stablecoin hits a wall in Japan, one of XRP’s friendliest markets, as megabanks earn most of the trust

Nomura’s latest survey suggests Japanese institutions trust stablecoins issued by major financial institutions most, a potential hurdle for RLUSD even in a market where XRP has long enjoyed unusual traction.

Japan has long been one of Ripple's most fertile markets. SBI's investment in Ripple dates to 2016, SBI Remit launched Japan's first XRP-enabled international remittance flow in 2021, and SBI VC Trade counts XRP among its most popular assets.

When Ripple and SBI announced in August 2025 that SBI VC Trade intended to distribute RLUSD in Japan, the move read as a natural extension of an already deep local partnership.

A recent survey of 518 investment professionals in Japan, conducted by Nomura and Laser Digital between December 2025 and January 2026 and released Apr. 16, found that 63% of respondents identified potential uses for stablecoins, spanning treasury management, cross-border payments, crypto investing, and tokenized securities.

Across JPY, USD, and EUR denominations, the stablecoins that drew the highest institutional trust were those issued by major financial institutions.

Japan may be Ripple's friendliest proving ground and precisely where the limits of crypto-branded stablecoins become visible.
Ripple's position in Japan goes beyond standard distribution agreements. SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture formed from SBI's 2016 investment in Ripple, has operated as part of Ripple's regional infrastructure for nearly a decade.

SBI Remit began using Ripple Payments in 2017 and expanded XRP-based remittance corridors into the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia in September 2023.

As the price held firm, whale activity picked up.

CryptoQuant’s Spot Average Order Size data showed a rise in large orders over the past week. This reflected stronger whale participation.

Large orders on Spot do not confirm direction alone. They can signal both accumulation and distribution.

Even so, CoinGlass data pointed to a transition phase. Some whales sold into strength, while others accumulated aggressively.

Morgan Stanley’s newly launched Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), MSBT, has rapidly hauled in more than $100 million, leveraging the lowest fees in the market to outpace the WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund (WBTC) in net inflows, despite being live for less than a week.
Morgan Stanley’s MSBT has outpaced a key rival in just its first week on the market, highlighting robust early investor appetite for the bank’s newest foray into digital assets.

Within only six trading days of launch, the fund soared past $103 million in total net inflows—overtaking the WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund’s $86 million cumulative haul, Farside Investors data shows.

MSBT debuted on April 8 with a market-leading fee of 0.14%, narrowly undercutting the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF (BTC) by just 1 basis point. It entered a crowded sector of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs, alongside major players like BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which leads the market with $64 billion in net inflows, and the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, which has drawn $10.9 billion since launching in January 2024.

MSBT’s competition also includes Bitcoin funds from Bitwise, ARK 21Shares, and Grayscale. The ETF benefits from an immediate distribution edge via Morgan Stanley’s expansive wealth management platform, which manages trillions in client assets.

If its momentum continues, Morgan Stanley’s fund could soon close in on—and potentially usurp —Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO), Valkyrie Bitcoin ETF (BRRR), and Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC), which have recorded net inflows of $246 million, $327 million, and $374 million, respectively.
