LAB crypto jumps 28% – Can bulls reclaim $18 without fresh demand?
$LAB crypto rallied 27.96% to $15.48 in 24 hours, far exceeding Bitcoin’s 0.97% advance, as buyers continued building momentum from the recent defense of the $12 breakout zone. The altcoin had declined by over 21% on the 20th of June, sitting at $12. Buyers were able to defend the June breakout level and, in doing so, prevented a deeper pullback.

As the price continued upward, $LAB began moving up toward the 61.8% and 50% Fibonacci retracements. These retracement levels had been influencing price all month long. Traders were determining whether the decline was a short-term correction or the beginning of a longer-term trend change as the price hovered in between them.

Meanwhile, the RSI moved to 61.5 after declining from overbought conditions above 75 near the $18.80 high. This shift indicates improving momentum. As a result, buyers appear to be regaining strength.

Even so, volume has decreased significantly since buyers drove price to the $21.37 high. This suggests participation remains limited. Therefore, conviction is yet to fully return.

For now, $LAB must reclaim the $16.21 level. If buyers achieve that with stronger volume, momentum could strengthen further. Yet, the price could retest the $18.80 high. A successful breakout there could then open the path back toward the previous high of $21.37.

On the other hand, resistance remains a key obstacle. If $LAB fails to overcome it, the probability of a move back to $13.27 increases. Should selling pressure persist, the risk of a deeper decline toward the critical $11.07 support zone would also rise.

According to data recently released by the U.S. Treasury Department, China sold part of its U.S. Treasuries in April, reducing its holdings from $652.3 billion in March to $651.1 billion in April, the lowest since September 2008. This marks the third consecutive month of net selling, trimming holdings by $43.3 billion.

China, one of the largest economies, reduced its U.S. Treasury holdings in April, reaching an 18-year low.

According to data recently released by the U.S. Treasury Department, China sold part of its U.S. Treasuries in April, reducing its holdings from $652.3 billion in March to $651.1 billion in April, the lowest since September 2008. This marks the third consecutive month of net selling, trimming holdings by $43.3 billion.The sales came during a period when the conflict in the Middle East still raged on, a factor that could have influenced this move, as inflation and other concerns impacted the U.S. economy’s outlook.

Another factor that could have influenced this move was the uncertain role of Kevin Warsh, the newly appointed Chair of the Federal Reserve, and his deep links to President Donald Trump. Those concerns have been at least partly mitigated since Warsh recently supported a decision to maintain interest rates, a policy that differs from Trump’s ultra-dovish desires for sub-1 % rates as part of his economic action plan.

With this reduction, China maintains its position as the third-largest foreign holder of US debt, falling behind Japan and the U.K.

Nonetheless, China opposed international market trends, as other holders increased their ownership of U.S Treasuries during the same period. The total U.S. debt held by foreign actors grew to $9.35 trillion, the second-highest number recorded.

The milestone was supported by increased demand from countries like Japan, which held $1.21 trillion in April, and the U.K., which held $937.5 billion in the same period.

Satoshi’s lost-coins quote is less a prediction that bitcoin’s price would rise and more an observation that scarcity intensifies as coins disappear from circulation. Still, the premise ultimately relies on the same assumption: that bitcoin would retain enough value for people to want to hold it in the first place.

Satoshi also told Laszlo that computers would need to become roughly 2^200 times faster before recovering or stealing lost coins could outpace mining. That statement was a scarcity argument, not a measurement. It left open a question researchers are still trying to answer in 2026: how many bitcoins are actually gone.

Several reports put the number at about 3.1 million $BTC, with a central range of 2.7 million to 3.9 million $BTC and a wider envelope of 2.3 million to 5.25 million $BTC. Against current circulating supply of 20,045,680.42 $BTC, tracked by Glassnode as of June 20, 2026, that midpoint equals roughly 15.5% of all mined bitcoin. It should be noted that the estimate of 3.1 million so-called “lost” bitcoin cannot be proven with certainty.
