Bitcoin [BTC] has finally caught the attention of Wall Street investors. After five straight days of outflows, Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a massive inflow on the 12th of June. Whales are showing a similar bullish stance, signaling growing confidence in the asset. 

At press time, BTC climbed 1.30% over the past 24 hours and was trading at the $63,750 level. Despite the price jump, market participants appeared hesitant, as reflected in the trading volume, which tumbled 16% to $24.07 billion.

Bitcoin was the world’s first cryptocurrency and continues to be the most prominent digital coin on the market. Its market cap is about $1.33 trillion, placing it well ahead of the next-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, which has a market cap of roughly $233 billion.

In simple terms, Bitcoin is a decentralized form of digital money. Instead of relying on a government, bank, or central institution, it operates over a peer-to-peer network. That structure allows users to send value directly to one another, without an intermediary.
Many people are attracted to Bitcoin as a potential way to protect against inflation in the U.S. dollar or as a way to diversify their investments. Over the past decade, its gains have been striking, often beating the returns of major stock indices, which has made it a particularly compelling asset for some investors.

On the flip side, Bitcoin (like other cryptocurrencies) is subject to intense volatility and sudden price moves.
Since Bitcoin came on the scene in 2009, its history has been dramatic. In the early years, developer and early advocate Laszlo Hanyecz made history by paying 10,000 Bitcoins for pizza; today, that same amount of Bitcoin would be valued at over $668 million.

Across roughly the last decade or so, Bitcoin’s value has climbed more than 15,000%. That remarkable run has come with plenty of turbulence, as digital currencies are notoriously unpredictable. There have been periods where Bitcoin lost tens of thousands of dollars within a few months, as well as stretches where it surged just as aggressively. By the end of 2025, its price was about 30% below the record high it hit just a few months earlier.

On the hourly timeframe the regime is bullish, with the price above the three converging EMAs in the 6.80–6.86 area.

The key resistance for a change in structure is the daily EMA20 at $7.37; the critical support is at $5.52.

The Fear & Greed Index is at 23, in extreme fear territory.

The dominant force on the daily chart is clearly bearish. This is not an opinion: $AVAX is trading below all the main moving averages, in a regime in which sellers have systematically prevailed in recent weeks. The macro context does not help. The cryptocurrency market, especially Bitcoin ($BTC), is awaiting the Federal Reserve’s June interest rate decision, which will be announced today with the participation of the new FED Chairman, Kevin Warsh.

While the Bitcoin price has fallen to the $64,000 level due to the ongoing uncertainty, according to the analysis firm K33 Research, $BTC is showing signs that the bear market is nearing its bottom.

Rising Open Interest alongside price appreciation typically signals that new positions are entering the market, adding weight to the debate over what is fueling ETH’s breakout. 

What’s interesting is that much of the activity appears tied to a highly publicized bet. 

As highlighted above, trader Ansem recently opened an Ethereum [ETH] short targeting a move toward $888. The call quickly gained attention across crypto markets.

ETH’s subsequent 4% rally, however, moved decisively against that positioning. The move appears to have amplified FOMO across the derivatives market, with traders rushing to increase exposure. 

Notably, the surge in Open Interest suggests this dynamic is already unfolding in real time. The focus now shifts to Spot demand.

If buyers in the Spot market fail to step in and support the move, Ethereum’s breakout above $1,800 could remain largely leverage-driven. In that case, the rally risks turning into little more than a short squeeze, raising the possibility of a bull trap.
