Ripple Just Made Its Biggest Move of 2026 While Everyone Watches the XRP Price Chart

On June 16, Ripple took an equity stake in Flutterwave as part of the African payments company’s Series E round, valuing it at $3.2 billion. The deal embeds RLUSD, Ripple Payments, and the XRP Ledger directly into Flutterwave’s payment infrastructure across Africa.

Stablecoin settlement is already live commercially with select merchants. Most attention stays fixed on the XRP price chart. However, crypto analyst Dark Defender (@DefendDark) drew attention to this update, suggesting the market has not yet processed what is actually happening.

What next for ASTER price trends?
Bitcoin [BTC], for its part, has been laboring under a long-term downtrend lately. Its bounce to $67K was quickly halted and at the time of writing, the $64K support zone was under threat. This has put selling pressure on the altcoin markets.

It also negatively affected ASTER prices, with the altcoin itself undergoing a sell-the-news type reaction.

Since October, the altcoin has made new lows on the 1-day chart – Evidence of a bearish structure. At the time of writing, this structure was still in place though, with the swing points highlighted in white.

ASTER bulls have to drive a rally beyond $0.811 to flip the swing structure bullishly. In fact, the latest attempt ran into the $0.75-$0.80 supply area and faced rejection.

Bitwise CIO Names Chainlink One of Crypto’s Most Promising Assets for Institutional Players
Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan has put Chainlink on crypto’s Mount Rushmore.

In a recent interview, Hougan, whose job involves selling crypto to wealth managers and family offices, ranked LINK alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana as the four most important assets in the market.

The comparison carries weight given his audience. “If you talk to the average institutional investor, they’ve never heard of Chainlink,” he said. “And if you say the word Oracle to them, they think of the Greek Oracle of Delphi.”

According to Hougan, the gap between institutional awareness and actual market relevance creates opportunities. Blockchains are being built to interact with the real world, and Chainlink controls roughly 75% of the oracle market that enables that interaction.

“If Chainlink were a software company in a traditional C Corp wrapper, it would be one of the hottest tech plays in the market right now – as hot as Circle,” he said, adding that investors seeking exposure to stablecoins and tokenization should consider both Circle and Chainlink together.

So why don’t institutions own it yet? Hougan points to the token’s complex structure and tokenomics, which tend to scare off traditional allocators before they’ve had time to understand them. Those who do, he suggests, tend to see exactly what he sees.

The ETF data suggests that the dynamic may be shifting. Spot Chainlink ETFs have pulled in $2.82 million in net inflows this week alone, including $1.01 million on June 10. Moreso, the products haven’t recorded a single day of net outflows since launching last year, making them the best-performing crypto ETFs by that measure.

They now hold close to 2% of LINK’s circulating supply.

AAVE’s token fair value could rise to $175 in one year,’ predicts Grayscale
In a recent development, Grayscale Research thinks that Aave [AAVE] might be undervalued right now. According to Grayscale Research’s conventional discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, the token is worth its current value.

Grayscale believes the protocol will make about $60 million in 2026, despite recent challenges in the larger cryptocurrency space.

The asset manager also believes that fintech multiples of 20x-25x would push a current fair value market cap of $1.2 billion to $1.5 billion, or a token price of about $80 to $100 as comapred to $75 at press time. 

Grayscale added,

In a base case scenario in which regulatory clarity accelerates adoption of tokenized assets, we believe AAVE token fair value could rise to ~$175 in one year.
Nevertheless, despite its clear tokenomics and dominance over several crypto cycles, Aave is not impervious to wider ecosystem threats. Although not a direct attack on Aave, the Kelp DAO rsETH exploit in April 2026 caused downstream market disruption that decreased protocol activity.

Although the situation was promptly resolved and the funds remained safe, the effects are still felt. Currently, token buybacks are on hold while the governance review is conducted and the total value locked (TVL) is significantly reduced from $45 billion in 2025 to $13.043 billion at the time of publishing.
However, to assess, monitor, and manage risk across the protocol, Stani Kulechov, the founder of Aave, has presented a new risk framework.
