The Tron-based lending protocol plans to keep running quarterly buybacks and transparent burn reports as part of a revenue-driven deflation program. JustLend DAO has carried out its third major buyback and burn of JST, permanently removing 271,337,579 tokens with an estimated value of $21.3 million from circulation. In an announcement on April 16, the Tron-based lending protocol said the burned tokens were sent to a “black hole” address and funded by its net income for the first quarter of 2026 plus past accumulated profits. With this latest event, the total number of JST destroyed has climbed to 1,356,228,332, representing 13.70% of the token’s overall supply and extending a rapid deflationary run that began in late 2025. Earlier rounds saw JustLend wipe out roughly 1.08 billion JST across two buybacks worth nearly $40 million, equal to about 10.96% of supply in under three months. Revenue-funded burns cement JST’s deflation narrative JustLend reiterated that its buyback program is explicitly tied to protocol profitability, describing the burns as “value empowerment” driven by real cash flow from lending spreads and other revenue sources on Tron. TRONSCAN data previously cited by Phemex and other outlets showed that earlier phases of the program destroyed JST worth roughly $44.8 million, underscoring that the effort is more than a symbolic supply cut. Bitcoin & Ethereum Now Trading on America’s Top Brokerage, Charles Schwab

America’s top brokerage firm, Charles Schwab, has officially rolled out trading for Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) on the Schwab Crypto platform through the Charles Schwab Premier Bank.

The phased launch will begin with an internal employee pilot, followed by a client waitlist pilot, followed by deeper expansion throughout Q2, 2026, and beyond. New York and Louisiana are currently exempt from the service.

Today’s announcement is a follow-up to the one that happened earlier this month. Charles Schwab now plans to integrate more cryptocurrencies and AI tools to cater to industry demand, while diversifying its revenue sources.

At present, the Texas-headquartered firm boasts about $1.48 trillion in assets under management (AUM), and up to 46 million active brokerage accounts managed by 16,000 advisors.

Aside from its flagship crypto product, Charles Schwab released its Q1 2026 earnings report today. Its net revenue grew 16% year-over-year to a record $6.48 billion, slightly missing the $6.50 billion expectation. This caused a 7.73% drop in its stock (NYSE: SCHW) on the day, with the stock trading at $92.53 at the time of writing.

The Nasdaq 100 has reached roughly 2.7% short interest, a 6-year high. The Russell 2000 sits near 5.0%, its highest in 15 years. The last time all three indexes showed such elevated short positioning simultaneously was during the 2010-2011 European debt crisis.
