NVIDIA's Market Share in China Drops from 95% to 55% Over Three Years, Domestic AI Chips Capture 40%

According to monitoring by 1M AI News, IDC's latest report indicates that the total shipment of AI accelerator cards in the Chinese market is expected to reach approximately 4 million units by 2025. Domestic manufacturers have delivered a total of 1.65 million units, accounting for 41% of the market. NVIDIA remains the leader with around 2.2 million units shipped, but its market share has decreased from approximately 95% before sanctions to 55%, losing 40 percentage points over three years. AMD has shipped about 160,000 units, representing 4% of the market. Among domestic players, Huawei ranks first with approximately 812,000 units, capturing about 20% of the total market and contributing nearly half of the domestic shipments. Other manufacturers include: 1. Pingtouge (Alibaba's chip design company) with about 265,000 units, ranking second among domestic producers; 2. Baidu's Kunlun chip and AI chip company Cambricon, each with about 116,000 units, tied for third place among domestic producers; 3. Haiguang, GPU startup Muxi, and Tensu Zhixin account for 5%, 4%, and 3% of domestic shipments, respectively. In 2025, the central government will launch a new round of investment in AI infrastructure, with provinces accelerating the construction of intelligent computing centers, and many regions requiring government and state-owned enterprise data centers to prioritize the procurement of domestic chips. Jensen Huang previously stated that NVIDIA's market share in China's high-end training chip market has 'dropped from 95% to zero,' and the current 55% overall share is mainly supported by inference chips and the mid-to-low-end market. Export controls have cut off supply channels for NVIDIA's most advanced products but have also opened up previously non-existent market space for domestic manufacturers.
