Bitcoin is still holding around $71,000 after the weekend’s ceasefire-driven risk bounce, even as the macro story behind that move has already started to fray. After just a few days, the first move is already old news. On April 8, U.S. crude settled at $94.41, Brent at $94.75, the S&P 500 was up 2.5%, and the Dow was higher by 1,325 points after President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran.

By the next session, the reset was already wobbling. April 9 showed stocks recovering from early losses to finish modestly higher, while oil stayed elevated after its rebound, and the ceasefire already looked fragile.

As of Sunday, April 12, the macro backdrop looks even less settled. AP reported today that U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad ended without an agreement, with both sides blaming each other, and the two-week truce still under strain. That pushes the market one step further away from the easy version of the bullish case that treated the ceasefire as a stable reset in risk appetite.

Trump-linked World Liberty Financial has lost a key backer after its $75 Million DeFi loan tied up user liquidity, with Justin Sun publicly breaking and criticizing the project’s treatment of investors.

“Every action taken by the $WLFI team to extract fees from users and to treat the crypto community as a personal ATM is illegitimate,” Sun wrote.

The criticism comes days after World Liberty Financial deposited 5 billion $WLFI tokens as collateral on the DeFi lending platform Dolomite and borrowed about $75 million in stablecoins.

The deposit still dominates Dolomite, accounting for a majority of the protocol's roughly $794 million in total supply liquidity.



At its peak earlier this week, the USD1 pool hit 100% utilization, temporarily locking ordinary stablecoin depositors out of their funds. As of Sunday, the pool had eased to roughly 82% utilization, with about $158 million borrowed against $193 million supplied.

Dolomite co-founder Corey Caplan also serves as an advisor to World Liberty Financial, a dual role that onchain analysts have described as functionally that of CTO. To accommodate $WLFI's deposit, Dolomite raised its $WLFI supply cap to 5.1 billion tokens.

“These actions have nothing to do with me. They have nothing to do with the investors who believed the promises this project made,” Sun continued. “We oppose every one of these actions in the strongest possible terms.”l

The Bitcoin price has somewhat slowed down over the weekend after a largely positive past few days, slipping below $73,000 in the early hours of Saturday, April 11th. According to an on-chain analyst, investors are beginning to increase their exposure to the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Are Investors Using BTC As A Hedge Against Inflation?
In a recent post on the X platform, pseudonymous market pundit Darkfost shared that a behavioral shift among Bitcoin investors is occurring at the moment. The crypto analyst revealed that this trend can be observed through the rotation of liquidity over the past few weeks.

Highlighting data from Checkonchain, Darkfost based their analysis on the Capital Rotation Net Position Change, which measures the flow of funds between major cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, in this case), stablecoins, and fiat currencies. This metric tracks whether investors are moving their capital into riskier assets (risk-on sentiment) or to risk-free assets (flight-to-safety sentiment).

In addition, the Capital Rotation Net Position Change metric calculates the 30-day net change in the digital asset’s realized capitalization. According to Darkfost’s post, Bitcoin’s realized cap fell to an extreme low of -$28.7 billion at the end of February.

At the same time, while BTC’s realized cap dwindled, the stablecoin market capitalization began to steadily increase, reaching more than $6 billion. This rise in the stablecoin market cap reflects a clear intention from investors to protect their capital, while its coincidence with Bitcoin’s realized cap drop marks the first time for such a rotation since the previous bear market.

In the last 24 hours, Cardano’s price has been actively trading along a stable direction. While the weekly trend shows a series of highs and lows, the current price structure seems to lean more on the bears’ side as bullish momentum has been limited. This price trend comes at a moment when the crypto market has heated up again after Charles Hoskinson ignored claims that his own personality affects Cardano adoption this week with an $XRP supporter.

Cardano Price Stalls as Recovery Attempts Fade

According to CoinMarketCap data at the time of writing, Cardano traded near $0.250 after showing an uneven intraday path on the chart. Cardano price opened with an upward move and then extended gains toward the upper part of the range. The advance continued in stages and produced several short bursts before the trend weakened.

After reaching its high, the Cardano price turned lower and lost momentum across the middle section. The decline then unfolded gradually, with repeated pullbacks interrupting earlier upward movement. A brief rebound followed, but it did not restore the earlier path. Price then slipped again and moved into a flatter pattern near the lower zone.

The final section showed narrow swings around $0.250, with little separation between moves. The chart presented a continued battle between bulls and bears through the session. Bulls surged the $ADA price early, while bears later erased much of that progress. By the end, the trend remained soft and lacked a strong recovery move.
