A major shift is quietly unfolding in the crypto industry, and it could have long-term consequences for Bitcoin. According to Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments, many of the world’s largest Bitcoin mining companies are rapidly pivoting toward artificial intelligence (AI) — and that’s raising serious concerns.
Just a few years ago, Bitcoin miners were fully focused on securing the network and accumulating BTC. Now, the narrative is changing. Publicly listed mining firms are projecting a dramatic drop in Bitcoin-related revenue — from around 90% today to nearly 30% within the next two to three years — as they shift their focus to AI infrastructure and services.
So, what’s driving this move?
The answer is simple: money and market incentives. Companies that aggressively embraced AI — targeting over 80% of revenue from it — reportedly saw their stock prices surge by more than 500%. Meanwhile, firms with weaker AI strategies struggled, with some even posting negative returns. In today’s market, AI isn’t just a trend — it’s where investors are placing their bets.
This shift is also changing how miners invest. Instead of buying new ASIC machines to expand mining capacity, some companies are choosing to run their existing hardware until it becomes obsolete, while redirecting capital into AI data centers and computing infrastructure.
But this transition comes with risks.
Bitcoin miners play a crucial role in maintaining the network’s security through computational power. If fewer resources are dedicated to mining, it could weaken the network over time. At the same time, miners are selling more BTC than ever. In Q1 2026 alone, major players like MARA, Riot, CleanSpark, and Bitdeer collectively sold over 32,000 BTC — a record-breaking figure that adds selling pressure to the market.

At the time of writing, IONQ is trading in the middle of its 52-week range and below its 200-day simple moving average. Wall Street’s current ratings on the quantum stock fall in line with these historical performances. Out of the 15 analysts covering IONQ surveyed by CNN Business, 80% rate the stock a buy, while the remaining rate IONQ a hold.Analysts are split on IONQ’s potential, with price targets ranging from $35 to $100. The current market price is $44.68. Benchmark and Needham maintain a Buy rating with a $65 target, while DA Davidson and Morgan Stanley are more conservative with Neutral and Equal-Weight ratings, respectively.

$XRP is starting to regain strength after holding firm at a critical demand zone near $1.4. The reaction from that level was not weak or hesitant.

Price bounced with intent, and since then, momentum has been building in a way that suggests buyers are stepping back in with confidence.

Demand zone shifts short-term bias

The $1.4 zone has now proven to be more than just temporary support. It acted as a base, and the rebound from it has shifted the short-term structure back in favor of buyers.

However, the path to test higher points of interest is not completely open. The market is now approaching a layered resistance area that could slow things down.

The supply zone between $1.5 and $1.6 stands as the immediate barrier. It is a zone where sellers previously stepped in, and it is likely to attract attention again.

$1.67 liquidity level remains the key target

Beyond the current supply zone, the larger objective sits around $1.67. This level represents both a prior high and a clear liquidity target.

Markets tend to gravitate toward such levels, especially when momentum is already building. A liquidity cluster worth 4.66 million at the 1.66 resistance level underlines the price level as a key target for Ripple buyers.

Still, reaching that level will depend on how price behaves within the $1.5–$1.6 range. A clean push through could open the path toward $1.67. A rejection, on the other hand, may lead to a pause or brief consolidation.

The rally triggered about $762 million in crypto liquidations, mostly from short positions, with bitcoin accounting for roughly $382 million and ether $167 million, as funding rates had been negative for weeks.

Traders are watching the $76,000 to $78,000 zone as a key resistance area whose sustained break could clear a path toward bitcoin’s $94,000 yearly open and $126,000 record high, while other major tokens also logged solid weekly gains.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has criticized the latest Bitcoin (BTC) proposal to protect vulnerable assets from quantum-computing threats. The three-step approach touted as a possible lifeline might face another setback due to Satoshi-era coins.
Hoskinson analyzed developments in the Bitcoin ecosystem, comparing solutions to those of top altcoins. The BIP-361, which seeks to save more than a third of Bitcoin’s supply, approximately worth over $536 billion, has come under scrutiny in recent weeks. 

The plan is expected to make all assets quantum-resistant to prevent losses likely to occur in the next five years. However, experts say freezing coins that don’t migrate to quantum-resistant addresses will not solve all problems.

In the coming months, the three-phase proposal will replace older signature schemes. Initially, inflows to quantum-vulnerable addresses will be blocked before legacy coins are frozen. The final phase is more contentious because it allows recovery of Bitcoins that missed their deadlines.

While it’s acceptable to many, it doesn’t account for coins held before 2013. These assets, about 1.7 million BTC, were created before the key generation of BIP-39.

“34% of all Bitcoin is vulnerable… and here’s your hard fork here. They don’t want to admit it, but this will require a hard fork. Users with frozen quantum vulnerable funds can construct a quantum safe product to recover funds… that’s a lie! And you know it. 1.7 million coins can’t do that. It’s not possible.”

Hoskinson and other critics noted that the plan could recover some of the assets, making it not an entirely bad proposal. He noted that inaction could result in massive losses if quantum computers breach Bitcoin’s cryptography.

Despite this make-or-break zone, experts’ bold projections and rising accumulation among the top 100 holders suggest that $ENA could potentially break above this prolonged barrier this time.

As of this writing, $ENA was up 14.22% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.123.

With the rising price, market participants have shown notable interest in the asset, as trading volume climbed 72% to $283.55 million during the same period.

Ethena approaches key resistance

On the daily chart, $ENA appears bullish, as it has recently broken out of a descending channel pattern. However, due to the key resistance at $0.1345, the price seems to be struggling to continue its rally.

The current price action suggests that if $ENA successfully breaks above this key level, it could potentially see a price jump of over 45% and reach the $0.198 level.

However, if it fails to do so, the possibility of a significant decline could arise.

At press time, technical indicators Money Flow Index (MFI) and Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) were at 86.01 and -0.02, respectively, indicating that the asset was in an overbought zone with weakening capital inflows.

This points to a potential slowdown or short-term correction in price momentum.

The analytics tool Nansen reveals that major players and long-term holders, such as the top 100 addresses, have shown strong interest in the asset.

According to the data, over the past 30 days, these top players have increased their $ENA holdings by 4.85%, indicating a potential buying opportunity.
