Amid concerns that the U.S.–Iran war could drag on, the altcoin market remains in a bearish trend, with some tokens nearing all-time lows. Still, the view is that investors should prepare less for a short-term rebound and more for the possibility of further declines and heightened volatility.

As name-by-name divergence deepens in the altcoin (crypto assets other than Bitcoin) market, a structural downtrend has compounded the weakness, with more than 40% of all tokens found to be at or near all-time lows.
According to on-chain analytics platform CryptoQuant on the 4th, more than 40% of all altcoins were tallied as having reached or being close to their all-time lows. That exceeds the roughly 38% recorded in the previous bear market. The market is increasingly viewing the broad erosion of individual altcoins’ downside resilience as becoming structurally entrenched.

This trend goes beyond a simple demand contraction and is also tied to shifts in market structure. As new token issuance increases, liquidity has been dispersed more widely, intensifying the phenomenon of "liquidity dilution," in which the density of capital flowing into each individual token declines. A clearer pattern has also emerged in which funds concentrate in a handful of names, widening performance gaps across tokens.

Darkfost, a CryptoQuant analyst, said, "With more than 40% of all altcoins having hit or nearing all-time lows, this figure exceeds prior bear-market levels," adding that "during periods of extreme price weakness, attractive entry points can emerge, particularly for crypto projects with solid fundamentals."

Here's what 'cracking' bitcoin in 9 minutes by quantum computers actually means



Google's Quantum AI team said earlier this week that a future quantum computer could derive a bitcoin private key from a public key in roughly nine minutes. The number ricocheted across social media and spooked markets.

But, what does it actually mean in practice?

Let's start with how bitcoin transactions work. When you send bitcoin, your wallet signs the transaction with a private key, a secret number that proves you own the coins.

That signature also reveals your public key, a shareable address, which gets broadcast to the network and sits in a waiting area called the mempool until a miner includes it in a block. On average, that confirmation takes about 10 minutes.

Your private key and public key are linked by a math problem called the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem. Classical computers can't reverse that math in any useful timeframe, while a sufficiently powerful future quantum computer running an algorithm called Shor's could.

Here's where the nine minutes part comes in. Google's paper found that a quantum computer could be "primed" in advance by pre-computing the parts of the attack that don't depend on any specific public key.

Once your public key appears in the mempool, the machine only needs about nine minutes to finish the job and derive your private key. Bitcoin's average confirmation time is 10 minutes. That gives the attacker a roughly 41% chance of deriving your key and redirecting your funds before the original transaction confirms.

Think of it like a thief spending hours building a universal safe-cracking machine (pre-computation). The machine works for any safe, but each time a new safe appears, it only needs a few final adjustments — and that last step is what takes about nine minutes.

The $XRP price structure is not giving a clear bullish signal, and there are questions as to whether the current range will hold up and whether there’s going to be another leg down.

Crypto analyst Hov, who has been tracking $XRP’s structure on the weekly timeframe, laid out a detailed Elliott Wave count on X that identifies exactly where the price stands and what it needs to do in the coming sessions to avoid a more serious breakdown.

$XRP Wave Structure Is Sending A Warning Signal

Crypto analyst Hov pointed out that the $XRP price action coming off the recent lows lacks the kind of impulsive strength traders look for when a reversal is going on.

Hov’s chart, drawn on the weekly timeframe, traces out an expansive Elliott Wave sequence beginning from $XRP’s 2018 cycle top through the corrective lows of 2019/2020, recovering across the 2021 bull cycle, and extending into the current setup.

What the analyst observed is interesting: the $XRP price action from the recent swing low is printing a series of threes, not a clean five-wave impulsive structure. In Elliott Wave theory, a sequence of three-wave moves is corrective by nature. It implies that the dominant trend may not have fully reversed and that price could still be responding to a larger downward cycle.

The expectation earlier was that $XRP would push into a fifth wave off the lows to confirm bullish intent. That move has not materialized. As long as the price structure is corrective, then there are risks of continuation to the downside.
