The discussion around $XRP and ISO20022 has been running for years. Some claim $XRP is “ISO20022 compliant,” while others completely reject that idea. The reality sits somewhere in between.

ISO20022 is a messaging standard used by banks, while $XRP operates in liquidity and settlement. Mixing these two roles has led to constant back-and-forth between analysts, developers, and the wider crypto community.

Bill Morgan Breaks It Down

Legal expert Bill Morgan stepped in to clear things up, pushing back on critics like ScamDetective5.

Instead of arguing that $XRP is directly compliant, Morgan explained the actual structure. $XRP works through Ripple’s Interledger Protocol (ILP), which acts as a bridge for value transfer.

What he meant is quite simple:

ISO20022 → handles messaging

ILP → handles liquidity and settlement

“Ripple has also played a big part in the evolution of this messaging layer for traditional finance. Ripple joined the ISO20022 Standards Board in 2020 and influenced the direction it took for cross-border uses and extending the standard to DLTs.” He stated

In short, Ripple has played a role in shaping ISO20022 standards and built its payment systems to align with them. That creates indirect compatibility, even if $XRP itself isn’t “compliant” in the traditional sense.

Analysts Push Back Hard

The response was quick. ScamDetective5 challenged Morgan, asking how an $XRP payment could actually be executed through ISO20022 and whether the same logic would apply to Bitcoin, since it can also interact with ILP.

Technically, HYPE still has room to move toward its previous highs, with relatively thin resistance between current levels and the all-time peak. If momentum continues, liquidity zones near the mid-$50 range could come into play.

On the fundamental side, Hyperliquid’s ecosystem continues to expand. The protocol generates significant revenue and allocates a large portion toward buying back its own token, creating structural demand. Growth in real-world asset trading and new product expansions are also supporting long-term bullish narratives.

However, analysts caution that without stronger spot market participation, the current rally may struggle to sustain itself. Rising leverage combined with weak buying conviction could lead to increased volatility in the near term.

Overall, HYPE remains in a strong uptrend, but its next move will likely depend on whether real spot demand catches up with speculative positioning.

The simple answer is this — the market is reacting to fear, not a collapse in fundamentals.
Ethereum is currently stuck in a broader risk-off environment. Macro conditions are still heavy: a stronger U.S. dollar, delayed expectations for Fed rate cuts, sticky inflation concerns, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. In this kind of environment, investors tend to reduce risk exposure, and capital often rotates toward “safer” assets. Bitcoin has been the clear winner of that rotation, with BTC dominance staying elevated and ETH lagging behind.
Ethereum ETFs haven’t helped sentiment either. After early hype, we’ve seen periods of net outflows and inconsistent demand, with large players actively rebalancing positions. Add in whale movements and on-chain transfers, and retail traders are left feeling uncertain and defensive.
At the same time, structural changes in the ecosystem are playing a role. Layer 2 growth has been a massive success for scalability, but it has also shifted activity away from Ethereum mainnet, reducing fee revenue and weakening the burn mechanism that previously supported ETH’s deflationary narrative. Combine that with periodic leverage liquidations, and you get continuous downward pressure on price.
The result? Charts look weak, sentiment feels heavy, and confidence is shaken.
But here’s the part that matters most:
Ethereum’s fundamentals are still intact — and in many areas, improving.
