$XRP positioning shifts from deleveraging to re-entry

$XRP’s positioning now shifts from simple deleveraging into a more layered re-entry phase, where traders rebuild exposure after the drawdown.

Initially, the roughly 60% decline flushed excess leverage, which reduced forced selling and helped stabilize price action.

As pressure eased, the price recovered about 3% toward $1.47, which began attracting fresh positioning rather than strong-conviction buying.

This explains why Open Interest (OI) climbed to $2.83 billion, up 5.95%, as new trades entered while older shorts remained profitable.

Meanwhile, liquidations showed $5.01 million in short losses versus $1.57 million in longs, which signals growing pressure on late bearish positioning.

As of this writing, $ENA was up 14.22% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.123.

With the rising price, market participants have shown notable interest in the asset, as trading volume climbed 72% to $283.55 million during the same period.

Ethena approaches key resistance

On the daily chart, $ENA appears bullish, as it has recently broken out of a descending channel pattern. However, due to the key resistance at $0.1345, the price seems to be struggling to continue its rally.

The daily chart shows that $ENA has been facing this resistance since the beginning of February 2026.

The current price action suggests that if $ENA successfully breaks above this key level, it could potentially see a price jump of over 45% and reach the $0.198 level.

TradingKey - On April 17, catalyzed by the announcement of a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, the temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and substantive progress in the U.S. crypto asset regulatory framework, Bitcoin touched $78,384 intraday. This successfully broke through the descending resistance line that has suppressed every rally since October 2025; Bitcoin has now rebounded approximately 21% from its March low of $62,500.

Nevertheless, Bitcoin (BTC) following the upward breakout, divergence between bulls and bears has increased rather than diminished.

On-chain metrics lack consistency—Glassnode's TMM (True Market Mean) indicator is currently near $78,000, and whether price can reclaim this level is the core dividing line between a rally and a trend reversal. New capital continues to flow out of the market, with realized capitalization falling from approximately $1.12 trillion at the start of the year to about $1.08 trillion, a 3.2% decline, as net capital has failed to flow in.

On April 16, JPMorgan analysts released a report noting that negotiations for the CLARITY Act have entered the final stage, with the number of disputed points dwindling from over a dozen to two or three core issues, primarily revolving around stablecoin reward rules, DeFi regulation, and token classification. Senate staff described the draft as "very close" to resolution, with a target date of mid-2026.

Once passed, the bill will end the SEC’s years of "regulation by enforcement," clearly delineating the regulatory jurisdictions of the SEC and the CFTC. Most mainstream tokens will fall under the CFTC’s jurisdiction, significantly reducing the compliance burden.

JPMorgan previously stated that the bill's passage will be the "ultimate catalyst" for the crypto market.

Five spot $XRP ETFs attracted $55.4 million in net inflows over the past five trading days, recording positive flows every single day. The largest single-day inflow arrived on April 15 at $17 million. Those five products now hold a combined $1.11 billion in assets – 1.22% of $XRP’s entire market cap.

The week ending April 11 saw $119.6 million in weekly inflows, the strongest figure since December, according to CoinShares. Institutional demand is not fading. It is accelerating despite six consecutive months of price decline.

$XRP Short Squeeze Setup Traders Are Watching Right Now

For the first time since January 17, the SuperTrend indicator has flipped bullish on $XRP’s daily chart. The key level to watch is $1.55. A clean break and daily close above it would likely trigger a relief rally toward the $1.90 zone, according to technical analyst Ali Charts.
