Crypto conferences filled venues and dominated social feeds in 2025, but fresh traffic data suggests the hype barely translated into meaningful audience growth for crypto media outlets. Crypto conference season was noisy last year. The booths were full, the panels were stacked with premier speakers, and the side events and parties ran late. Social feeds made it look like the entire digital asset market took over conference halls and parts of major cities. So we asked the obvious question: did any of that noise actually make it into the traffic charts? To check, our latest Outset Data Pulse analysis tracked monthly visits across 274 crypto and Web3 media outlets in Asia and the United States from January 2025 through March 2026. How the conference effect was measured This report was not a basic surface-level comparison of total traffic during event months. Rather, every website was measured against its own normal pattern, not the rest of the market, because it doesn’t make sense for a small regional outlet to compare against a large global publisher. At the same time, a 10% move at one outlet may be normal, but a 10% move at another would be highly unusual. That’s why we used the z-score approach: each outlet’s traffic was converted into a z-score, which shows how meaningfully different a given month was for that specific outlet. A score near zero means the month was normal, while a higher score means the month stood out from the outlet’s own baseline. The charts comparing conference months with non-conference months make the contradiction easier to understand. The latest excitement in the Cardano ecosystem comes from crypto analyst Eilert, who revealed that Grayscale could potentially launch a dedicated Cardano ETF, referred to as “GADA,” before October 23, 2026.

According to the analyst, the SEC’s approval of new generic listing standards for spot crypto ETFs has created a much smoother path for future launches. Under the updated framework, a crypto asset must first complete six months of CME futures trading before becoming eligible for a spot ETF review process.

Cardano ETF 2026 Launch Timeline

August 9, 2026 — $ADA becomes eligible for the streamlined ETF approval process after completing six months of CME futures trading. CME $ADA Futures officially launched on February 9, 2026.

SEC’s 75-Day Review Window: Under the SEC’s Generic Listing Standards (Rule 19b-4), approved in September 2025, the review process for standard commodity-based ETFs is limited to a maximum of 75 days.

Possible ETF Launch Deadline — October 23, 2026: If Grayscale or NYSE Arca activates the filing on August 9, the SEC would have until October 23, 2026, to issue a final decision on the Cardano ETF.

The possibility of a Cardano ETF has quickly become one of the strongest bullish narratives surrounding $ADA, especially as institutional demand for regulated crypto products continues to expand.

Grayscale Increases $ADA Exposure

Adding more fuel to the bullish outlook, Grayscale Investments has once again increased its Cardano holdings inside its Smart Contract Fund.

South Korea tightens oversight of firms moving crypto overseas: report

South Korean legislators passed a new bill that requires crypto businesses to register before moving crypto to and from overseas.

South Korea is also planning to start imposing a 22% tax on crypto gains from January 2027.

South Korea's national legislature has passed a new bill that would strengthen oversight of local businesses moving crypto assets overseas.

According to a report from local news outlet Edaily, the National Assembly passed a new amendment to the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act during its plenary session on Friday. 

With the amendment, entities seeking to transfer crypto to or from overseas as a business will soon be required to register with the Minister of Economy and Finance.

The amendment also set forth a new definition of the concept of a "virtual asset transfer business" — a crypto asset business that performs transfers between South Korea and foreign countries via sale, purchase, or exchange of crypto. This includes crypto exchanges and digital asset custody companies.

The South Korean government will utilize this legal update to monitor cross-border crypto flows in a more systematic manner.

South Korean authorities have recently been pushing stricter regulations on local crypto users.
The Financial Services Commission, South Korea's top financial regulator, recently announced it will expand Travel Rule requirements to cover all crypto transactions. Under current guidelines, the rule only mandates the collection of sender and recipient data for transfers exceeding 1 million won ($681.3).

Local crypto industry players have reportedly expressed dissent, arguing that the change could slow down transactions and ultimately result in losses in a highly volatile market environment.
