ONDO Finance files SEC no-action letter, joins DTCC consortium for tokenized securities push
Ondo Finance just asked the SEC for permission, not forgiveness. The real-world asset tokenization firm submitted a no-action letter on April 13, requesting regulatory clarity to use Ethereum Mainnet for managing tokenized securities tied to its Ondo Global Markets product.

The filing covers tokenized notes linked to more than 200 US stocks and ETFs, targeting non-US investors. If the SEC grants the relief, it would mark one of the most significant regulatory green lights for on-chain securities infrastructure to date.

TON price doubles after Telegram made a move critics say cuts against crypto’s core promiseToncoin ($TON) surged from roughly $1.32 on May 1 to an intraday high of $2.90 by May 7, pushing its market cap to approximately $7.8 billion.

The catalyst was Pavel Durov's announcement that Telegram would replace the $TON Foundation as the network's primary driving force and become its largest validator within two to three weeks.

Alongside that, ton.org was updated to state that the domain is “controlled by MTONGA.” Traders took the combination as confirmation that $TON had, in substance, become Telegram's chain. This means being directed by the same company whose 1 billion users would determine its value.

Toncoin climbed from $1.32 on May 1 to an intraday high of $2.90 on May 7 after Durov announced Telegram would take over $TON's governance.

In January 2025, Telegram and $TON formalized exclusivity agreements that went far beyond branding.

$TON became the sole blockchain infrastructure for Telegram Mini Apps, $TON Connect became the required wallet-connection standard for blockchain-enabled mini apps, and Toncoin became the only cryptocurrency accepted for Telegram Stars, Premium, Ads, Gateway, and certain developer and channel-owner payouts.

Those terms gave $TON a structural claim on every financial transaction running through Telegram's platform. What the early-May post added was a governance layer on top of that commercial position.

Just a few days into May, the network is struggling to attract new wallet addresses. After over a year, new addresses have fallen to one of their lowest levels.

New XRP Addresses Drop Dramatically
The XRP network’s activity and its price are starting to move toward the same negative direction. While the recent momentum in price is slowly fading away, user growth across the network appears to have sharply cooled down.

The slowdown is a result of a significant drop in the number of new wallet addresses created on the network. According to the chart from Glassnode, a popular research and on-chain data analytics platform, the metric has fallen from its peak in late 2024. Currently, the tide of new user onboarding and involvement that formerly drove network growth has slowed in recent months.

Glassnode announced that new wallet addresses on the XRP network have collapsed from 18,000 XRP in a single day in December to about 2,700 XRP per day as of yesterday. This drop from the 2024 high to today’s levels represents a more than 85% decrease after over a year.

In the ever-evolving crypto market, new addresses are often linked to retail investors. Therefore, the declining new addresses’ activity points to a sign of weakening retail involvement, particularly during times of increased speculation and market excitement.

Amid this fading, new wallet addresses created on the XRP network, its monthly active supply is telling a different story. As reported by Glassnode, the monthly active supply is exhibiting bearish activity, dropping from 7.4 billion XRP per day to around 2 billion per day over the same period.
