The Real World Assets (RWA) sector on the XRPL network reached a valuation of $3.03 billion, a 45% increase in 30 days.

Goldman Sachs reported holding $153.8 million in spot $XRP ETFs, consolidating its position as the largest institutional holder.

During May 2026, market analysts detected an increase in $XRP whale activity, which reportedly caused significant changes in liquidity levels across major exchange platforms. At the time of writing, the asset was trading in a range between $1.30 and $1.45.

Strategic Manipulation and Institutional Accumulation

The Cheeky Crypto report indicates that the current resistance at the $1.45 level could be a liquidity zone deliberately created by whales. Data suggests that what retail investors interpret as a technical barrier could function as a “market trap” to absorb selling pressure through Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs).

According to Bloomberg, the supply of $XRP on exchanges dropped over the last 24 hours following the withdrawal of more than $115 million in assets. This outflow is typically interpreted as a sign of long-term accumulation, reducing the supply available for immediate sale.

American Bankers Association escalates lobbying against CLARITY Act stablecoin provisions

The American Bankers Association is pulling out every lobbying tool in its arsenal to gut yield provisions from the CLARITY Act before the Senate Banking Committee votes on May 14, 2026. ABA President Rob Nichols recently rallied bank executives on a call, urging them to personally lobby senators against bill language that would allow crypto firms to offer interest-like rewards on stablecoins.

The $2 trillion problem

On April 13, the ABA published its own study estimating that yield-bearing stablecoins could balloon the stablecoin market from roughly $300 billion today to $2 trillion. That kind of growth, the ABA argues, would come largely at the expense of traditional bank deposits.

The ABA’s position is that such a shift would undermine banks’ ability to fund consumer loans, mortgages, and other credit products.

The White House Council of Economic Advisers published an analysis on April 8 that reached the opposite conclusion, finding that stablecoins would not pose systemic risks to the banking sector. The White House framing leaned toward encouraging innovation rather than protecting incumbents.

Political battle lines sharpen

The Senate Banking Committee is expected to release revised text for the CLARITY Act on May 11, with potential amendments circulating as early as May 12.

Senator Bernie Moreno has already made his position clear, and he’s not siding with the banks. Moreno criticized the ABA’s lobbying push, characterizing it as evidence that the “banking cartel” is panicking over competition from stablecoins.

Nearly 60% of the total loss came from the reduced fair value of its Bitcoin holdings, showing how deeply mining companies remain tied to market volatility.

The company revealed that it held approximately $925.2 million worth of Bitcoin at the end of the quarter, but falling BTC prices significantly damaged earnings performance. Revenue also declined from $181.7 million last year to $136.4 million this quarter, while losses per share widened sharply.

Despite the difficult quarter, CleanSpark continued expanding operations aggressively. The company increased its Bitcoin holdings by 14% and boosted its average monthly hashrate by 18% year-over-year. Management is also accelerating its shift toward AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, following a growing trend among major Bitcoin mining firms.

CleanSpark secured hundreds of megawatts of ERCOT-approved power capacity in Texas and continues developing infrastructure projects in Georgia. The company says its long-term goal is to transform from a traditional Bitcoin miner into a broader AI and digital infrastructure provider.

However, investors reacted negatively to the earnings report. Although shares closed slightly higher during regular trading, they dropped more than 9% in overnight trading after the financial results were released.

The report also highlights a broader issue across the mining sector. Other major miners including MARA Holdings and TeraWulf also posted significant quarterly losses as Bitcoin treasury valuations declined. At the same time, many mining companies are increasingly looking toward AI and HPC businesses to diversify revenue streams and reduce dependence on Bitcoin price cycles.

One of the most important achievements announced is the stabilization of enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation, also known as ePBS. This system allows validators to outsource block-building operations to specialized builders while integrating the process directly into Ethereum’s protocol rules. The goal is to improve scalability, reduce dependence on external relays, and safely support larger block sizes.

The Ethereum Foundation also finalized EIP-8037, a proposal focused on smarter data storage pricing. The update increases the cost of excessive state creation operations, helping Ethereum avoid uncontrolled blockchain state growth as gas limits expand.

At the same time, Ethereum developers are continuing work on future upgrades including Hegotà and the long-term Strawmap roadmap, which focuses on preparing Ethereum for future quantum computing challenges.
