TRUMP memecoin drops as team moves 7.59mln tokens – More downside ahead?

Despite the extended and stubborn market weakness, the Trump team has signaled another potential sale.

According to Onchain Lens, the TRUMP team sent 7.59 million TRUMP, worth $21.81 million, into BitGo Custody.

For now, these tokens have not been sold. However, the team previously moved tokens to the wallet and then deposited them into exchanges. 

If the previously observed pattern reemerges, the token will likely be sold. Selling pressure from the team, especially now with TRUMP under extreme stress, will cause downside pressure.

‘7 out of 7 times’ – Why Bitcoin beats Gold and S&P 500 in every crisis

Bitcoin has been here for a long time, and despite its volatility, the leading cryptocurrency has stood the test of time since its launch.

However, the years 2020 to 2026 mark an important year for Bitcoin as it managed to outperform in all crisis.

Bitcoin during 7 big crisis

Starting with the first US-Iran escalation on the 3rd of January 2020, Bitcoin [BTC] had surged by 20% as compared to gold, which surged by just 6%.

On the contrary, the S&P 500 stock was down by 7%. In the same year, during the COVID-19 outbreak in March, BTC was up by 21%, whereas the S&P 500 and gold were up by 2% and 3%, respectively.

Similar patterns were seen in the Russia-Ukraine war, the U.S.-Iran war of 2026, and also during the U.S. banking crisis.

However, it was only in 2024, when a Yen carry trade unwind led to gold surging by 9% and the S&P 500 surging by 7%, whereas BTC was up by only 3%.

Ripple CTO Says RLUSD Evaluation Exposed the Same Risk That Drained $292M From Kelp DAO
David Schwartz, CTO Emeritus at Ripple, had a pointed observation this week after the Kelp DAO rsETH bridge was exploited for approximately $292 million.

He had seen this coming. Not this specific attack, but the conditions that made it possible.

“I evaluated a lot of DeFi bridging systems for use by RLUSD,” Schwartz wrote on X. “I was almost exclusively focused on the security and risk aspect. One thing I noticed is that most schemes were very well designed and had really strong mechanisms available to protect against exactly the type of attack the KelpDAO situation seems to have been caused by.”

What Schwartz described is a pattern he encountered repeatedly during his evaluation process. Bridge providers would pitch their most advanced security features prominently, then almost immediately suggest that those features were optional and that most customers chose not to use them.

“They generally in effect recommended not bothering to use the most important security mechanisms because they have convenience and operational complexity costs,” he wrote. “We were frequently pitched the simplicity and ease of adding more chains with the implicit assumption we wouldn’t bother using the best security features they had.”

“Their sales pitch was that they have the best security features but they’re easy to use and scale, assuming you don’t use the security features,” he said.

One of the main factors supporting XRP is its real-world use in cross-border payments.
Ripple's network continues to expand globally, offering fast and low-cost transactions for financial institutions. This strong utility gives XRP an advantage and supports its long-term value.
From a technical perspective, $0.55 is acting as a strong support level, where buyers are consistently entering the market. On the upside, resistance is forming around $0.70-$0.80. If XRP breaks above this resistance with strong volume, it could trigger a bullish rally toward $0.90-$1.10 in the short term.
However, if the price fails to hold above support, a temporary correction toward $0.50 may occur. Market sentiment is currently neutral to slightly bullish, with traders waiting for a breakout confirmation.

End of 2026: $1.50 - $3.00+
