Santiment: Ethereum-Based USDT Sees Biggest Exchange Net Outflow in 3 Months
Santiment flagged that Ethereum-based USDT recorded its largest exchange net outflow in nearly three months on Friday, drawing attention to a shift in how stablecoin liquidity is moving across trading venues.

The on-chain analytics platform identified the outflow as notable for its size relative to recent weeks. The metric tracks the net difference between USDT flowing into centralized exchanges and USDT leaving them, specifically on the Ethereum network rather than across all chains where Tether operates.
A discussion on the r/AltScope subreddit referencing the Santiment observation confirmed that it was the largest such movement in the period tracked.

What Exchange Net Outflow Means for Ethereum-Based USDT
Exchange net outflow measures whether more of an asset is leaving exchanges than entering them over a given period. When outflows exceed inflows, the net figure turns negative, meaning the total supply of that asset sitting on exchange wallets has decreased.

What Is Grass?
Grass is a DePIN protocol on Solana. The pitch is simple: you install the desktop app, leave it running, and the network routes your spare bandwidth to AI labs and enterprise clients pulling public web data for model training. Your contributions stack as Grass Points, which determine your $GRASS token cut. The project raised $4.5 million in seed funding from Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital. It has paying clients. According to MEXC blog reporting citing Blockworks, those clients include “major 7-figure” AI labs. This is not a project running on vibes alone.
Season 1 numbers put things in perspective. It became the most widely distributed airdrop in Solana history: 100 million $GRASS tokens to 2.8 million users across 190 countries. In October 2025, the team overhauled the points model at Epoch 11. Rewards now split into Uptime Points (for staying connected) and Network Points (earned only when your bandwidth is actually used). Network Points pull from a fixed daily pool of 1,000,000, split pro-rata by real usage. The model shift is important: passive idling no longer cuts it the way it once did.

Security researchers are currently reacting to two Linux kernel vulnerabilities, which are forcing crypto infrastructure operators into urgent security reviews.

On April 29, researchers publicly disclosed a critical local privilege escalation flaw dubbed CVE-2026-31431 or “Copy Fail” in the Linux kernel’s crypto API. Copy Fail reportedly affects every distribution made from 2017.

Copy Fail was confirmed active and immediately added to the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on May 1.

Less than two weeks later, even before many organizations completed mitigation work for Copy Fail, another Linux privilege escalation chain called “Dirty Frag” hit the wild.

Dirty Frag was publicly disclosed on May 7. It reportedly combines CVE-2026-43284 and CVE-2026-43500 to obtain root privileges through Linux kernel memory-management flaws.

Researchers report that Dirty Frag can manipulate memory allocation patterns to overwrite privileged kernel objects and eventually gain root-level execution.

Unlike Copy Fail, Dirty Frag had no available patches at the time of disclosure.

The crypto space is exposed to the Copy Fail and Dirty Frag vulnerabilities, as most core crypto infrastructure runs on Linux.

Crypto exchanges use Linux servers to manage wallets and execute trades. Some of the cn-chain validators on PoS blockchains, like Ethereum and Solana, usually operate on Linux-based environments. The same goes for crypto custodians.

Due to this, researchers view Copy Fail and Dirty Frag as a risk to crypto platforms.

Copy Fail already has patches available. However, deploying kernel updates across live crypto infrastructure is rarely simple. Dirty Frag presents the biggest risk, given that there are currently no official patches to deploy.
