The US crypto industry could soon witness a major regulatory breakthrough as the CLARITY Act is officially scheduled for a Senate Banking Committee vote on May 14. The announcement has reignited optimism across the digital asset sector, with many industry leaders calling it one of the most important legislative developments for crypto in recent years.

The CLARITY Act was originally introduced in July 2025 with the goal of providing clearer rules for cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, blockchain innovation, and stablecoins in the United States. However, the bill faced delays earlier this year after Coinbase withdrew support due to concerns surrounding DeFi regulations, restrictions on stablecoin yield products, and the lack of legal protections for open-source software developers.

Following the confirmation of the upcoming markup session, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal reacted by saying, “It’s on like Donkey Kong,” while Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad described the development as a “big step forward” for both innovation and consumer protection in the United States.

For years, crypto companies have argued that unclear regulations and aggressive enforcement policies under the previous SEC leadership pushed innovation and investment away from the US toward more crypto-friendly countries. Many industry participants believe the CLARITY Act could help reverse that trend by creating a more predictable legal framework for blockchain businesses and investors.

Pro-crypto Senator Cynthia Lummis also publicly backed the legislation and urged lawmakers to move the bill forward through the Banking Committee. According to industry insiders, the legislation will likely require bipartisan support and at least 60 votes in the Senate to eventually become law.

ONDO rallied more than 50% over the past week as the project reported $13.26 million in Q1 revenue and $3.53 billion in total value locked. Technical indicators turned bullish after the breakout, with analysts now watching the January resistance zone near $0.47 as the next major upside target.
According to data from crypto.news, Ondo (ONDO) climbed to an intraday high near $0.40 on May 8 before slightly easing to around $0.39 at press time. The token has now gained more than 50% over the past week, making it one of the strongest-performing major RWA-focused assets during the period. The latest rally comes amid a series of major institutional developments tied to Ondo's tokenized treasury products. One of the biggest catalysts was the successful completion of a cross-border institutional settlement pilot involving Ondo, JPMorgan's Kinexys, Mastercard, and Ripple. The pilot demonstrated the redemption and settlement of tokenized U.S. Treasuries using blockchain infrastructure, with the asset leg reportedly finalized in under five seconds on the XRP Ledger. The development strengthened investor confidence that tokenized financial products are gradually moving closer to real-world institutional adoption. On-chain data shows the Bitcoin Realized Loss indicator has remained elevated even after the latest surge in the cryptocurrency’s price.

Bitcoin Realized Loss Has Stood At $479M Per Day Recently
In its latest weekly report, on-chain analytics firm Glassnode has discussed the latest trend in the Realized Loss for the Bitcoin network. The “Realized Loss” here refers to an indicator that measures, as its name suggests, the total amount of loss that BTC investors as a whole are realizing through their transactions.

The metric works by going through the transfer history of each token being moved to see what price it was transacted at prior to this. If the last selling price was less than the latest one for any token, then that particular token’s sale can be considered to be leading to the realization of some net loss.

The exact degree of loss involved in the transfer is equal to the difference between the two prices. The Realized Loss calculates the sum of this difference for all loss transactions occurring on the blockchain. A counterpart indicator called the Realized Profit takes care of the transfers of the opposite type.

Now, here is the chart shared by Glassnode that shows the trend in the 14-day simple moving average (SMA) of the Bitcoin Realized Loss over the last few years:

As displayed in the above graph, the 14-day SMA of the Bitcoin Realized Loss witnessed massive spikes as the cryptocurrency saw price crashes in November and February.

These spikes weren’t anything unusual, as price drawdowns tend to accompany panic selling from top buyers. Interestingly, however, another spike has just recently appeared in the indicator, despite the fact that BTC has been rallying.

A recent technical outlook points to a shortfall on the ETH daily candlestick chart, as the price continues to stall below the upper end of its rising channel despite repeated attempts to extend the rally.

Ethereum’s Rally Is Showing A Shortfall

Technical analysis of the Ethereum daily candlestick timeframe chart shows that Ethereum has been trading inside a rising channel since February 2026. This is a structure that, in theory, should allow bulls to progressively push the price toward its upper boundary.

The structure has produced a sequence of higher lows, which is usually a good sign. However, the problem is that ETH has not matched that strength on the upper side of the pattern, at least in May.

According to a crypto analyst that goes by the name Ardi on the social media platform X, the channel’s upper boundary currently is around $2,520, but ETH’s recent advances have repeatedly stalled around $2,420. That leaves the price about 6% below the channel high, creating a shortfall.

The daily structure is also not fully bullish. While ETH has reclaimed its short- and medium-term moving averages, the 200-day EMA is still above the current price, meaning the recovery is still incomplete.

The concern becomes more serious because Bitcoin has already achieved what Ethereum has not. The Bitcoin price has reached the upper side of its own channel structure to create a higher high around $81,000, meaning Bitcoin has been leading the market rally more cleanly.
