The recent Kelp DAO exploit has become a major turning point for the DeFi industry. After nearly $293 million worth of rsETH tokens were drained, many protocols are now reconsidering the security of their oracle and bridge infrastructure. This incident exposed how dangerous weak cross-chain configurations and third-party dependencies can become in decentralized finance.

Following the exploit, several projects including Solv Protocol and Tydro announced migrations toward Chainlink infrastructure. Solv Protocol specifically decided to adopt Chainlink CCIP after conducting extensive security reviews, replacing LayerZero bridges in search of stronger protection and reliability. Kelp DAO itself also moved its rsETH token infrastructure toward Chainlink after the attack.

The event has sparked broader discussions across the DeFi ecosystem about oracle security, risk management and the growing importance of battle-tested infrastructure providers. Industry leaders now believe protocols can no longer rely on low-cost or lightly tested systems when billions of dollars are locked in decentralized applications.

Many experts argue that the future of DeFi will increasingly depend on trusted oracle providers with long operational histories and strong performance during market crises. Chainlink’s ability to continue operating during events such as the Covid market crash, the FTX collapse and multiple periods of extreme volatility has strengthened confidence among developers and investors alike.

Zcash plots quantum-proof wallets, Visa-scale throughput as ZEC hits 75% monthly gain

Zcash, the privacy-focused crypto built on zero-knowledge proof technology, is preparing to introduce quantum-recoverable wallets within weeks and expects to complete a full post-quantum transition over the next 12 to 18 months, alongside efforts to scale the network to payment volumes comparable to Visa and Mastercard, Zcash Open Development Lab CEO Josh Swihart told a Consensus Miami audience this week.

Swihart criticized Bitcoin as no longer meeting the standards of private peer-to-peer money envisioned by early cypherpunks, arguing that transparent blockchain balances make users vulnerable to monitoring and asset seizure.

The comments arrived during a sharp rally in ZEC, which has climbed more than 75% in the past 30 days amid fresh backing from Multicoin Capital and a resurgence in privacy-focused crypto narratives.

The asset changed hands at $580 at press time, up 3.5% in the last 24 hours, per CoinGecko.
