However, short-term trading remains choppy because liquidity is uneven and investors are still reacting to global economic signals.

Zcash Outperforms Cardano With 65% Price Run-Up, Flips Market PositionPrivacy token Zcash ($ZEC) is up in the last 24 hours, taking its weekly gain to 65% according to CoinMarketCap data.

The recent rise has caused Zcash to surpass Cardano ($ADA)'s market capitalization and it is currently the 11th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization with a valuation of $9.824 billion, while Cardano sits in the 12th spot of largest cryptocurrencies with a market cap of $9.81 billion.

$ZEC has risen over the past month following Multicoin Capital's disclosure of a "significant" position in the privacy coin. Prominent crypto fund Multicoin Capital disclosed it had been building a large Zcash position since February, saying that $ZEC's shielded transactions could offer security against increased government efforts to audit and tax visible crypto holdings.

Zcash is set to roll out quantum-recoverable wallets in readiness against future quantum computing threats. The privacy coin aims to achieve full post-quantum status within 12 to 18 months, putting it ahead of major cryptocurrencies in quantum readiness.

$ZEC is currently trading at $587, up 88% in the last 30 days and up 1278% on the year, but remains behind its November 2024 high near $750. This provides room for the rally to continue if the interest sustains. The next barrier is the $600 to $650 range, where $ZEC consolidated through late 2024.

Experienced Analyst Identifies Two Resistance Levels for Bitcoin – “A Similar Pattern Has Been Seen Three Times Before in History”
Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe, in his assessment of Bitcoin’s current market structure, highlighted two critical resistance zones that investors should watch.

According to Van de Poppe, the key levels for Bitcoin in the short term are the $86,000–$88,000 range and the $93,000–$95,000 range where the 50-week moving average is located.

Cardano Faces a Strange Setup: Possible ADA ETF Approval; Weak Price Action

Cardano is sitting on one of the most interesting paradoxes in crypto right now — a credible ETF timeline building overhead, and a price chart that hasn’t noticed yet.

CME $ADA futures went live on February 9, 2026 — starting the mandatory six-month regulated futures clock required before a spot ETF can be approved under the SEC’s new generic listing standards framework.

The clock is ticking. The market, for the most part, is still asleep.

The ETF Timeline Is More Concrete Than Most Realise
August 9, 2026 is the date $ADA becomes eligible for the streamlined ETF approval process.

If Grayscale or NYSE Arca activates its filing on that date, the SEC has a maximum 75-day review window — putting a final decision deadline at October 23, 2026.

Firms like Bitwise and Canary Capital are also pushing for Cardano ETFs, meaning late 2026 could see multiple $ADA ETF launches simultaneously.

Grayscale has already increased $ADA’s allocation inside its Smart Contract Fund — from 17.96% to 18.33% — while reducing Ethereum exposure.

The Leios Public Testnet is scheduled for June 2026, targeting over 1,000 transactions per second.

The Midnight Mainnet — Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain for confidential smart contracts — is also set for Q2 2026. The development pipeline is real.

The institutional positioning is happening. The price just hasn’t followed — yet.

The six-month mark doesn’t trigger automatic approvals. It opens a window where exchanges can list spot $ADA trusts under generic standards without filing separate rule changes.

Issuers still need effective S-1 registrations. The real tell between now and August 9 is whether spot $ADA ETF S-1 filings start appearing — signalling that issuers are lining up to launch the moment the threshold clears.

However, his most recent Solana over Bitcoin preference came during one of the most closely watched moments from the recently concluded Consensus 2026 event in Miami. The choice was notable because Pal has always been associated with broad macro crypto commentary, and his market views often focus on liquidity cycles, network adoption, and price peaks.

While at the event, Pal said he would choose Solana if he had to pick between Solana and Bitcoin. This choice is mostly due to his belief of where the higher-growth opportunity sits as the crypto industry moves deeper into the AI era. 

Particularly, Pal linked the future of crypto to artificial intelligence and described crypto as the ‘Universal Basic Equity’ of the AI age.
