Over the past month alone, BTC has gained more than 12%, signaling strong capital inflows and renewed confidence in the crypto market.
But beneath the surface, on-chain data is revealing something even more interesting:
👉 Money may slowly be rotating out of Bitcoin and into altcoins.
One of the biggest signals comes from Bitcoin Dominance (BTC.D), which has recently started declining.
For those unfamiliar, Bitcoin Dominance measures how much of the total crypto market cap belongs to Bitcoin.
When BTC dominance falls, it often means traders are shifting capital into alternative cryptocurrencies.
And that shift may already be happening.
While Bitcoin continues consolidating near highs, several altcoins have started outperforming:
📈  gained over 15% in the past week
📈  rose more than 10%
📈 Altcoin trading volume is climbing rapidly across exchanges
According to analysts at XWIN Research, a major sihe “Altcoin Volume Increasing Trend” has now appeared.
This happens when 30-day altcoin trading volume rises above the 365-day average — something that historically has often preceded stronger altcoin rallies.
Another important development:
The Bitcoin Dominance chart recently showed a bearish MACD crossover.
Some analysts believe this isn’t just a temporary technical signal…
It could be the beginning of a broader market structure shift.
That said, this does not necessarily mean Bitcoin’s bull market is over.
In fact, several on-chain indicators still suggest the market may be in the early stages of a larger cycle:
📌 Long-term holders are still showing low selling pressure
📌 MVRV ratios remain below previous cycle peaks
📌 Profit-taking activity is still relatively moderate
So Bitcoin could continue moving higher.

Arbitrum [$ARB] extended its bullish momentum over the past 24 hours, climbing 13% even as on-chain liquidity across the network continued to deteriorate.

While the broader crypto market has recently shifted toward a stronger risk-on environment, $ARB’s rally appears increasingly disconnected from underlying liquidity conditions.

Instead of being supported by fresh capital inflows into the ecosystem, the move is largely being driven by spot market demand and short-term accumulation activity.

That divergence now places the asset in a vulnerable position as it approaches a critical supply-heavy resistance zone that could determine whether the rally sustains or reverses.

Arbitrum’s recent price expansion has not been matched by growth in key on-chain liquidity metrics. Both Total Value Locked (TVL) and stablecoin supply across the network have continued to decline, reflecting weakening capital participation within the ecosystem.

TVL, which tracks the total amount of assets locked across decentralized finance protocols on the network, often serves as a measure of investor confidence and ecosystem activity. Sustained declines typically indicate capital rotation away from the chain.

Since tje 18th of April, approximately $449 million has exited Arbitrum’s TVL. The scale of the outflow suggests that broader market conviction around the ecosystem remains fragile despite $ARB’s recent upside.

Data also showed TVL slipping by an additional 0.24% over the past 24 hours to roughly $1.57 billion at the time of writing.

Stablecoin liquidity has followed a similar trend. Since May 1, more than $1 billion in stablecoins has reportedly moved out of the Arbitrum network, highlighting a broader reduction in deployable capital across the chain.

Liquidity outflows of this magnitude often point to weakening confidence in a network’s near-term outlook,

Zcash Outperforms Cardano With 65% Price Run-Up, Flips Market Position

The recent rise has caused Zcash to surpass Cardano ($ADA)'s market capitalization and it is currently the 11th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization with a valuation of $9.824 billion, while Cardano sits in the 12th spot of largest cryptocurrencies with a market cap of $9.81 billion.

$ZEC has risen over the past month following Multicoin Capital's disclosure of a "significant" position in the privacy coin. Prominent crypto fund Multicoin Capital disclosed it had been building a large Zcash position since February, saying that $ZEC's shielded transactions could offer security against increased government efforts to audit and tax visible crypto holdings.

Zcash is set to roll out quantum-recoverable wallets in readiness against future quantum computing threats. The privacy coin aims to achieve full post-quantum status within 12 to 18 months, putting it ahead of major cryptocurrencies in quantum readiness.

$ZEC is currently trading at $587, up 88% in the last 30 days and up 1278% on the year, but remains behind its November 2024 high near $750. This provides room for the rally to continue if the interest sustains. The next barrier is the $600 to $650 range, where $ZEC consolidated through late 2024.

What's next?

The difference between Zcash and Cardano's market capitalization is $0.01 billion, which leaves room for a potential flip in the coming sessions. It will be watched whether Cardano gets ahead or Zcash retreats, vacating the 11th spot of the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization for another cryptocurrency.

Zcash marked seven straight days of increases before slightly dropping as it faced resistance at $642. If the current profit taking continues and Zcash confirms overbought conditions, the $500 level might come into

Despite this, Van de Poppe stated that he believes current levels represent the bottom of a long-term bear market and that the overall market outlook is once again bullish.
