The Wyoming Republican argued that the bill would give crypto developers legal protection while helping law enforcement pursue illicit activity in digital asset markets.



Senate pressure builds over CLARITY Act



Her warning places new pressure on the Senate, where the bill remains short of final passage despite support from both parties. Lummis said developers need clear rules instead of legal uncertainty, while enforcement agencies need a defined framework for digital asset crime.

Until then, developers remain exposed with no legal protections, and law enforcement remains without the tools to hold bad actors accountable. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pressing charges against Nathan Fuller, a Texas resident, for running a multi-million dollar crypto investment fraud scheme. The case, filed at the US Southern District of Texas, seeks several penalties against the defendant for allegedly defrauding 150 victims.In a press release on May 28, the SEC stated that Fuller had adverted to and sold interests in a joint-venture crypto trading scheme under the company Privvy Investments LLC, linked to the business names Privvy Investments and Gateway Digital Investments. The man from Cypress allegedly promised some investors gains of 40%-50% within 30 days, and others a ridiculously audacious return of 100% in 21 days.

The Commission explains that Nathan Fuller had lured unsuspecting victims of his fraudulent scheme with a business model centered around AI-based trading bots that executed high-frequency arbitrage trading on several crypto exchanges. Moreover, the insurance promises included a surety bond, a professional liability insurance policy, and clearance from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Over this period, the defendant raised $12.3 million from 150 investors. The broader crypto market entered May with strong momentum, climbing from roughly $2.52 trillion to peaks near $2.75–$2.80 trillion by mid-month. During that period, buyers maintained control as capital steadily rotated into risk assets.

However, momentum began fading after repeated failures to sustain higher highs. As a result, market capitalization gradually slipped below $2.70 trillion before selling pressure intensified during the final week.

The decline accelerated between the 24th and the 30th of May. Total market value dropped toward $2.48 trillion, erasing more than $300 billion from recent highs.

Meanwhile, 24-hour volume reached $89.65 billion, highlighting elevated activity as participants reduced exposure.

This shift suggests the correction extends beyond isolated assets. Instead, liquidity appears to be leaving the broader market as risk appetite weakens.

If Spot demand absorbs the recent selloff, stabilization could emerge. Otherwise, continued deleveraging may keep market capitalization under pressure heading into June.

Long liquidations accelerate market deleveraging
The broader market had already weakened after losing more than $300 billion in value during late May. As prices slipped through key levels, leveraged positions began unraveling across major exchanges.

Over the past 24 hours as of press time, liquidations reached $282.08 million. Notably, longs accounted for $157.85 million, exceeding the $124.23 million wiped from shorts.

This imbalance suggests bullish traders absorbed the largest shock as momentum reversed.

Dash also argued that digital cash differs from tokenized versions of fiat money. In its view, a true digital cash asset should not only represent money held elsewhere. It should act as the base money itself.



The statement places Dash back inside a long-running debate over whether crypto should focus on payments, trading, stablecoins, yield products or application networks.
