Bitcoin was created as a response to the kind of debt-financed monetary disorder now playing out across global bond markets. The original thesis was that when governments borrowed recklessly and debased their currencies, hard-money assets would absorb the resulting demand.

What that thesis left unresolved is the possibility that the debt spiral could tighten financial conditions strong enough to suppress speculative assets before the hard-money argument has time to play out.

In 2026, the long-term narrative and the short-term mechanics are running in opposite directions, and understanding why requires spending a few minutes with the most consequential number in global finance right now.

FET targets $0.22 after 10% rally – So why are traders still cautious?
Artificial Superintelligence Alliance [FET] is currently benefiting from a rally linked to the broader artificial intelligence token narrative. The asset posted a 10% gain at press time, as chart projections point to another double-digit move to the upside.

Despite this, there is a high probability that the rally may not fully materialize, as opposing forces point to weakening buyer strength in the FET market.

At the time of writing, FET was trading within a classic bullish flag pattern, a formation that has historically preceded significant price swings to the upside. The pattern forms when an asset undergoes a massive expansion in price, then consolidates within a slightly downward-trending channel before making another major upswing.

FET has already passed through two phases of this pattern, completing the initial expansion and currently consolidating within the downward channel.

The third and final phase would see FET break above the upper resistance of the downward channel, with two price targets ahead: $0.22 and $0.24.

Whether this expansion materializes, however, depends heavily on whether momentum and capital conditions align to support the breakout.

The disagreement highlights ongoing tensions despite reported diplomatic progress. According to Axios, the proposed Iran peace deal includes a 60-day extension of the ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without shipping tolls. In return, Iran would reportedly regain the ability to sell oil freely while entering negotiations over limits to its nuclear program. The United States is also expected to ease sanctions on Iranian oil exports and lift restrictions on Iranian ports. The draft framework reportedly contains commitments from Iran not to pursue nuclear weapons and to discuss suspending uranium enrichment activities. Reports from The New York Times added that Iran may also agree to surrender its highly enriched uranium stockpile, although the details would be finalized in later negotiations.Pakistan has played a major role as mediator in the talks. Pakistani military officials described the negotiations as "encouraging," while Iranian officials confirmed discussions are ongoing.
